S. Goode, Mayor; E. N. Dutreil, Clerk; J. D. Umberfield, Constable and Collector; and Judge A. J. Delaporte, Assessor. Their second meeting, which was held on Saturday last the 14th, was set aside for general legislation. Ordinances, defining the duties, &c., of the various officers, were passed; likewise a few police regulations, among the most important of which, is that relating to nuisances, and as ordinance prohibiting all male slaves from perambulating the streets of the Corporation after 9 o'clock, under the penalty of imprisonment at the expense of the owner. Also, an ordinance prohibiting the discharge of fire arms within the Corporation limits--national and religious holidays excepted.
