John Garrett officiated the double ring ceremony in which the bride was given in marriage by her father. The bride wore a formal white satin gown that featured a fitted, high-necked, heart-shaped bodice and cap-fitted sleeves of venise lace, a full skirt flowed into a semi-cathedral length train accented with pearls, sequence and a white satin bow which adorned the back of the gown. Her V-shaped headpiece laced with pearls and white roses held a double-tier, fingertip-length veil of bridal illusion. She carried a traditional bouquet of magnolia and white roses accented with wine, ivory and greenery. Serving in the wedding were Darnicka B. Reese, matron of honor; Tonya Spencer, maid of honor; Neteesha D. Crowell and Ashunta L Triggs, brides maids; and Jamie J. Triggs, flower girl. Mikel Reese and Wilbert Bateast Jr. were best men; Jonathan S. Bateast and Derrick K J ohnson, groomsmen; Anthony K Bateast, Courtney J. Triggs and Jeremy W. Cumey, ushers; and Tye K Martin, ringbearer. A reception was given by the bride's parents at the American Legion Hall. The five-tier coconut and lemon-filled cake was accented with wine roses, two stairways and a water fountain. The groom's cake was chocolate-filled with Michael Jordan's dunk on top. The couple plans to reside in Florida. CHAUVIN-GUIDROZ Monique Michelle Chauvin and Rodney Paul Guidroz were married at 2 p.m. June 27, 1999 at The Balcony in Metairie. The bride is the daughter of Claiborne and Susie Chauvin of Lockport. She is the granddaughter of the late Vincent Tortorich and Blanche Tortorich, and the late Claiborne Chauvin and Wilma Chauvin. The couple plans to reside in Kenner.
