Deroche of Bourg and Corey M. Songy of Houma were married at 1:30 p.m. Sept. 11, 2004, at the Woodmen of the World Hall in Houma. The bride is the daughter of Kenneth and Angela Deroche of Bourg. She is the granddaughter of Lolita Ellis, William Louviere, Whitney Deroche and Sue Reese. Parents of the groom are Mickey and Pat Songy of Houma. He is the grandson of Phillip DeSoto and the late Anna DeSoto. Justice of the Peace Kenneth Hamner officiated at the double-ring ceremony in which the bride was given in marriage by her father. The bride wore a strapless hand-embroidered and crystal-beaded gown with peplum back and chiffon overlay. Her cathedral-length train was adorned with hand embroidery and crystal beads. Her crystal tiara held her fingertip-length veil edged with crystal beads. She carried a bouquet of white roses. Serving in the wedding were Jamie Garrett, matron of honor; Kallie Deroche, maid of honor; Monique Fanguy, Renee' Belanger, Brooke Donaldson, Dori DeSoto and Layla Louviere, maids; and Alyssa Rhodes, flower girl. Adam Garrett was the best man; Jonathan Deroche, Hunter Wurzlow, Ken Gros Jr., Talvin "T.J." Louviere, Thomas Rhodes and Jeff Jacobs, groomsmen; Brent Stokes Jr., ring bearer; and Van Pellegrin, Christopher Lovell and Mike Trahan, ushers. A reception was held at the Woodmen of the World Hall. The five-tiered wedding cake had a cascade of autumn flowers. The groom's cake had New Orleans Saints decorations. The couple will reside in Houma.
