C. BOURG BURIED TUESDAY Joseph Charles Bourg, noted jurist and member of a prominent pioneer family of the parish of Terrebonne, died June 7 at his residence, 509 Margaret Street. Son of the late Aubin Bourg and Elizabeth du Roi, Judge Bourg was born on West Park Avenue and lived his entire life in Houma. Nine times elected to the office of city judge, he served the city of Houma in that capacity for and aggregate 37 years. During these, and subsequent year of his active life, there was no movement for the betterment of the city or parish in which Judge Bourg was not prominently identified. Funeral services were conducted from the Chauvin Funeral home to St. Francis de Sales Church at 9:00 a.m. June 9, with interment in St. Francis de Sales cemetery. Survivors are six sons, Loren R. and Fane S. of Houma; Norman L. and Alvie A. of Vallejo, California; Roy C. of Washington, D. C.; and Don L. of New Orleans; two daughters: Mrs. Neil Dover, Houma; and Sister M. of St. Stephens of the order of the sisters Marianites of Holy Cross, St. Francis de Sales Academy, Houma; one brother Luby [of] New Orleans; one sister Mrs. J. Callahan Buried June 8 Adolph J. Callahan, 63, died June 7, at 3:00 a.m. at his residence, 1013 School street. Funeral services were conducted from Chauvin Funeral home to St. Francis de Sales church at 4:30 p.m. June 8, with enterment [sic] in St. Eloi cemetery, Bayou DuLarge. He is survived by his widow, the former Leontine Rogers, one daughter, Mrs. Vester Miller, and three sons, Morris, Hubert and J. C. Callahan. =============================
