Daigle Tarzile Duplantis Mrs. William Stoufflet of 352 Naquin Street died at her residence at 3:20 pm Wednesday, April 29. She was 80 years of age. Funeral services were held from Chauvin Funeral home at 3 pm Thursday, April 30, to St. Francis de Sales Church and interment in St. Francis de Sales cemetery. The former Tarzile Duplantis, she is survived by two sons, C. L. and Robert Stoufflet and an adopted son, Elray Duplantis, all of Houma; three daughters, Mrs. Tom Ozio of Morgan City; Mrs. L. H. Williams of Houston, Texas; Mrs. Alger Budge of Algiers, three grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Ernest Duplantis of Houma. ================================ Houma Newspaper, May 1, 1953, Friday Submitted by Cynthia F. Daigle Arthur Eschete Arthur Joseph Eschete succumbed at 3:25 am April 29 at his residence on East Park Avenue. He was 76 years old. Funeral services were from the Chauvin Funeral home to the Most Holy Rosary at 5 pm Wednesday, April 29, with interment in St. Francis de Sales cemetery. He is survived by two sons, M. Daigle Edwin Anthony Savoie Houma Courier Friday, May 1, 1953 Funeral Rites Held Sunday for Edwin A. Savoie Edwin Anthony Savoie, 59, of Bayou Blue, died at his residence at 10:30 am, Sunday, April 26. Funeral services were conducted from the Chauvin Funeral home at 10:30 am Monday, April 27, to St. Louis Chapel, Bayou Blue, with interment in St. Louis cemetery. Survivors are his widow, the former Adriene E. Hotard, two sons, Ronald and James; three daughters, Elise, Estelle and Julie Savoie. Four brothers, Pierre, Ursin, Cyprien and Homer and three sisters, Misses Ozelle and Laura Savoie, and Mrs. August Chauvin, all of Bayou Blue. ============================================================================= Submitted by: Nancy Wright The Houma Courier, May 22, 1953, page 2, col. 3 JAMES H. DAVIS James H. Davis, member of a prominent Terrebonne family, died at 1:35 p.m. May 16 at his residence on Bayou DuLarge. He was 48 years of age. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 17, from the Chauvin Funeral Home to St. Matthews Episcopal church followed by interment in St. Francis de Sales cemetery. He is survived by his widow, the former Norma Thibodaux, three sons, James H. Jr., William and Kent; three daughters, Dolores, Wanda and Ann Davis; his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Davis, three brothers, George, William Jr. and Eugene; five sisters: Mrs. Claude Daspit, Mrs. J. E. Millet, Mrs. A. M. Young, Mrs. M. J. Eschete, all of Houma, and Mrs. Peter Burcin of Pittsburg, La. Mr. Davis was connected with the Bijou Amusement company for approximately 26 years. He became manager of the Bijou and Grand theatres 10 years ago, and promoted and managed the Houma Drive-In when it was erected. =============================================================================
