He had been slightly ill but his death was entirely unexpected by family and friends alike as he had seemed to be improving so well. An employee of the Bank of Terrebonne for some years, Mr. Fields, for the past five years had been employed by the Houma Electical stores in the capacity of bookkeeper. Survivors include his wife, the former Mable Toups of Lake Charles, one daughter, Judy Ann and two sons, Chester and Earl Jr., one brother, Magnus Fields, three sisters, Mrs. Leo Boyne, Miss Ruby Fields, and Miss Valerie Fields and his mother, Mrs. Arthur Fields who made her residence with his family. A Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus, services for Mr. Fields have been tentatively scheduled for this morning (Friday) at ten with a Requiem High Mass at which all Knights of Columbus are expected to attend. Services will be from Chauvin Funeral Home to St. Francis de Sales Catholic church. ============================================
