Daigle Sidney Boudreaux Sidney Boudreaux, 68, of Donner, La, died January 7 at the Villa Marla No. 2 home, Prytania at New Orleans. Funeral services were conducted from the late residence to the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Chacahoula with burial in the church cemetery. Boudreaux was born in Lafourche parish. His parents, the late Leon Boudreaux and the late Marie Trahan. He is survived by his widow the former Camilla Gagneaux, a daughter, Miss Irene Boudreaux of Donner. Daigle Sophie Latour Funeral services for Mrs. Arthur Latour, the former Sophie Sylvester, were held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte yesterday at a Requiem High mass. Interment was in the new Sacred Heart Catholic cemetery in Ville Platte. She died January 8 at 2 a.m. at Ardoins Sanitarium in Ville Platte at the age of 77 after an extended illness. Her late residence was located at the corner of Latour and East Washington Sts. in that town. Mrs. Latour is survived by seven sons, Raleigh Latour, who owns and operates Latour?s Watch shop in this city, Earl, Curtis, Gerald, Raymond, Ashton and Irwin, all of Ville Platte; two daughters, Mrs. John Benoit and Miss Anna Belle Latour of Ville Platte; 26 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. ============================== Houma Courier; January 10, 1958, Friday Submitted by: Cynthia F. Daigle Noah Louis Roddy Funeral services for Noah Louis Roddy, Sr. of 488 Avenue B., Westwego, will be held today at 2 p.m. from the West Side Funeral home in Westwego with interment in the Westwego cemetery. He died January 8 at 10:35 a.m. in Charity hospital in New Orleans. Mr. Roddy, 72, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie Roddy, was born and reared in Terrebonne Parish and lived here for over half a century. He moved to Westwego about 15 years ago when he secured employment in a ship yard there. He is survived by his widow, the former Olinda Hebert; three sons, Noah Louis Jr., who owns and operates the Launderease at 500 Canal St. in this city, James and Morris of Westwego; a daughter, Mrs. Agnes Sentino of McAllister, Oklahoma; 14 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. ============================== Houma Courier; January 10, 1958, Friday Submitted by: Cynthia F. Daigle Moses Williams Funeral services for 65 year old Moses Williams were conducted from the Terrebonne Funeral home to the Calvary Baptist church in Smithridge at 11 a.m. January 6. Interment was in the Bisland cemetery. He died at Charity hospital in New Orleans at 1 a.m. January 2. A lifetime resident of Terrebonne Parish , he was residing temporarily at 1607 Cleveland St. in New Orleans prior to his death. Never having married, he is survived only by a sister, Mrs. Peggy Price and a brother, Clarence Williams of Sarah plantation in Little Caillou. Daigle Hazel Bertaut Funeral services for Hazel Aitkens Bertaut will be held at 9 o?clock this morning from Chauvin Funeral Home in St. Matthews?s Episcopal church with the Reverend G. P. Pardington officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories cemetery, Gray, La. Mrs. Bertaut, beloved mother of F. J. Porche of Houma; __ Robert T. Porche, who is stationed at Charleston, South Carolina; S. Sgt. Huey P. Porche, in the U.S. Air Force and stationed at Houston, Texas; M Sgt. John J. Porche, U.S. Air Force in Chaumont, France; and also wife of Duval Bertaut, Jr., who served in the Second Marine division during World War II and the Korean War. She died after several months of illness at her son?s home, 701 Williams Ave., in this city, at 7:15 p.m. January 15. Born in Houma November 21, 1902, her parents were the late Judge Ephie Aitkens and the late Celestine Duthu. Besides her husband and her sons, she is also survived by three sisters, Mrs. Sidney Sphar, Mrs. Beulah Prince, and Mrs. Lillian Guzzman, all of Houma, and six grandchildren. Prior to coming to Houma a short time ago, she resided at Camellia Dr., Vidalia, La. =============================== Houma Courier; January 17, 1958, Friday Submitted by: Cynthia F. Daigle Ed Nagim Ed Nagim, 59 year old resident of Berwick, La., died at Lakewood hospital, Friday, January 10, at noon following a heart attack. He had been ill for some time prior to his death. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, January 11 at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Berwick. Burial was in the Berwick cemetery. A native of Lebanon, he came to the United States at the age of 13 and joined his father, the late Sliman Nagim, who was then residing in Houma. At the age of 18, he volunteered in World War I and served a year in France with the United States Army. He married the former Mary Farris of New Orleans and they made their home in Berwick. Because of ill health he retired after working with the United States Engineering department for 20 years. During World War II his eldest daughter was a first lieutenant and saw action in Italy, France and Belguim and married an Elglish army lieutenant. His son served in Japan in World War II. Surviving are his wife Mrs. Mary Farris Nagim; two sons, Emmanuel and Charles Nagim of Berwick and two daughters, Mrs. Alice Alpiaker and Mrs. Anna Belle Gorsha, both of Berwick; 8 grandchildren; also a sister, Miss Muneera Nagim of Houma, and a brother and sister residing in Lebanon. =============================== Houma Courier; January 17, 1958, Friday Submitted by: Cynthia F. Daigle Usy Pellegrin Funeral services for Usy Joseph Pellegrin, 36, were held from his late residence in Chauvin to St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Little Caillou January 16. The celebrant of the Requiem High Mass was the Reverend Charles A. Paluighi, assisted by the Reverend Michael Finnegan and the Reverend Edmond Lawton. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Pellegrin died at his home at 2:45 a.m. January 15 after a very lengthy illness. Born and reared at Chauvin, he was the son of the late Theobold Pellegrin and the late Ernestine Henry, both of whom were born in Terrebonne parish. For the past 24 years Pellegrin owned and operated the Rex Theatre in Chauvin. Prior to that he was a fur buyer. He married the former Linda Theriot June 17, 1924 and they reared six children. The late Chauvin resident was the instigator of the Little Caillou fire department and was a member of the Woodmen of the World. He is survived by his wife; four sons, David, U.J. Eugene and Daniel; two daughters, Mrs. Magnal Authement, Mrs. Durle Carlos, all of Chauvin. He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Sidney Theriot and Mrs. Gerard Fanguy; a brother Sivest Pellegrin, all of Chauvin and four grandchildren. =============================================================================== Houma Courier; January 24, 1958, Friday Submitted by: Cynthia F. Daigle Louise Babin Mrs. Clovis Babin, 69, year old Houma resident, died at Terrebonne General hospital at seven o?clock the morning of January 23. The former Louise Clarisse Darcey and wife of the late Clovis Babin, she had been residing at 408 Honduras St. at the time of her death. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 24, from Chauvin Funeral Home with the Requiem Mass at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Burial will be in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2. Surviving are three sons, Gilbert, _J., Jr. and Hubert Babin, all of Houma and six daughters, Mrs. E.P. Pierce, Mrs. A. j. Lovell, Mrs. Dorothy Hebert, Mrs. Thomas Olivier, Mrs. Vernon Rogers and Miss Janet Babin. Daigle Mrs. Jake Morello Mrs. Jake Morello, 84 year old former resident of Houma and beloved mother of Lawrence Morello of Houma, died in New Orleans on Tuesday, January 21 at 12:30 o?clock in the afternoon. A native of Corleona, Italy, she had been a resident of Houma for many years prior to making her residence in New Orleans some ten years ago. She was the former Annie Lampo. Funeral services were held Thursday, January 23 at 9:30 o?clock in the morning from the Jacob Schoen and son, Inc. Auxiliary funeral home at 3827 Canal St. at North Scott St. in New Orleans with a Requiem High Mass at St. James Major church. Burial was in the Greenwood cemetery in New Orleans. Surviving besides a son, Lawrence in Houma are the following children: Mrs. Vito Discristino of St. Louis, Missouri; Mrs. Clara Thibodeaux of New Orleans; Salvatore Morello of Thibodaux. Also surviving is a brother Salvadore Lampo of New Orleans, seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Joseph Scott, 35, died at Terrebonne General Hospital on Wednesday, January 22 at 11:25 p.m. The former Mildred Liner, she had been residing at 334 Hobson at the time of her death. Funeral services will be held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church Friday, January 24 at 9 a.m. Burial will be in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2 under direction of Chauvin Funeral Home. Surviving are her husband, R.P. Joseph Scott; four sons, Richard, Robert, Wayne and Graie; two daughters, Barbara Ann and Eunice.
