Daigle Ivy Moore Ivy Alex Moore, 53, who had been suffering from a heart ailment for the past five years, died Friday at his home, 132 St. Louis Street. Early Friday morning Moore remarked to his wife, the former Myrtle Richard, "When God wants me, He'll call me". Funeral services were held from Chauvin Funeral Home to St. Francis de Sales cemetery No. 1. Besides his wife, Moore is survived by seven sisters and one godchild, Mary Margaret Bourg, who the Moore's have raised from infancy. Prior to seizure by the heart ailment five years ago, Moore was employed by Terrebonne Lumber Company. ============================ Houma Courier, June 3, 1960, Friday Submitted by Cynthia F. Daigle Theresa Pitre Mrs. Elie Pitre, 63, died Tuesday at 5:45 p.m. at her 240 St. Michel street residence. Mrs. Pitre, the former Theresa Malbrough, is survived by her husband, two stepsons, Ellwood and Flandrif, both of Houma; and two stepdaughters, Mrs. Easton Picou and Mrs. J.C. Rhodes. She also leaves five sisters, Mrs. Henry Larpentier, Mrs. Dalton Hebert, Oreline Malbrough and Elsie Malbrough of Houma and Mrs. Eddie Porche of Bayou Blue, and three brothers, Augustin, Henry and Armond all of Houma. Funeral services were held Thursday from the residence of the deceased to Holy Rosary church with interment in Holy Rosary cemetery. Daigle Nolan Rhodes Mr. Nolan Joseph Rhodes, 61, 217 Plum Street, was pronounced dead on arrival at Terrebonne General Hospital Wednesday morning at approximately 9 a.m. Funeral services were scheduled to be held Thursday at 4 p.m. from Chauvin Funeral Home with interment in Matherne Cemetery, Bayou Blue. Mr. Rhodes is survived by five brothers, Lanny, Alvin, Allie, Raymond and Reynoldo, all of Houma, and one sister, Mrs. August Hebert of Houma. ================================================================================ Houma Courier, June 10, 1960, Friday Submitted by Cynthia F. Daigle Joseph Eschete Funeral services for Joseph E. Eschete, 86, will be held Friday, June 10 at 11 a.m. from First National Funeral Home to St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Interment will be in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 1. Mr. Eschete died Wednesday at a rest home in Thibodaux at 9 p.m. He was a native of Little Caillou but had lived in Houma. He was the husband of the late Mrs. Helen Cuneo and the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Delmasse Eschete. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Nolan Trosclair and Mrs. Leona Cenac, both of Houma; six sons, Wilkerson, Loney, Warner, Wade and Warren of Houma and Shephered of New Orleans. Daigle Suzanne Bergeron Funeral services for Mrs. Suzanne Guidry Bergeron, 77, will be conducted Friday, June 10 at 9 a.m. from Chauvin Funeral Home to St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery No. 1 Mrs. Bergeron died Wednesday at 2:10 p.m. at her residence at 404 Academy St. She is survived by two sons and one daughter. Daigle Mrs. Florence Savoie Funeral services for Mrs. Florence Savoie will be held today at 10 a.m. from the First National Funeral Home to St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Interment will be in St. Francis Cemetery #1. Mrs. Savoie died Monday at 7:15 a.m. She was 74. She was the wife of Cyprien J. Savoie of 214 Margaret St. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. J. R. Langridge of Belle Chase; Mrs. David Porche of Algiers; Mrs. Paul Fanguy and Mrs. Gilbert Olivier of Houma; and two sons, Charles Savoie of Marrero and Claude Savoie of Houma. She is also survived by 25 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Daigle Vital Pellegrin Mr. Pellegrin Services Held at St. Francis Funeral services for Mr. Vital Pellegrin were held Monday at 9 a.m. from Chauvin Funeral Home to St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church with interment in Magnolia Cemetery. Mr. Pellegrin died at 9:45 p.m. Saturday at Terrebonne General Hospital. He was 87 and a resident of 532 Roosevelt St. He is survived by his widow, the former Lila Bergeron, and two daughters, Mrs. Duval Champagne and Miss Rita Pellegrin. Daigle William Whitney Funeral services for Mr. William Joseph Whitney were held Thursday at 3:30 p.m. from Chauvin Funeral Home to Holy Rosary Catholic church. Interment was in Holy Rosary cemetery. Mr. Whitney died at the age of 67 at his residence at 2700 East Main St. Wednesday at 3:45 p.m. The deceased is survived by his wife, the former Mrytle Mary Beadle; five sons, William Jr. of Baton rouge, Floyd of Clermont, Calif., Linwood, Elward and Robert of Houma; two daughters, Mrs. Gilmore Daigle and Mrs. Junius Rogers of Houma. Mr. Whitney is also survived by 17 grandchildren. The deceased was a retired dairyman.
