Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 21 at 11:15 a.m. at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Interment was in the church cemetery. Survivors are two sons, Ave Bergeron of Port Arthur, Texas, and Robert (Bob) Bergeron of Houma; two sisters Mrs. F. L. Barrios of New Orleans, Mrs. Florence Magill of San Antonio, Texas; two grandchildren, James Bergeron of Port Arthur, Frank Bergeron of Baton Rouge, two great grandsons, John Robert Bergeron and Jeff Bergeron of Baton Rouge. A grandson, John Bergeron, preceded her in death. She was born in Gonzales and lived in Houma, for 60 years. She was a widow of James B. Bergeron. She came to Houma as a bride and lived at 924 East Main all of her life and was connected with the Excelsior Bakery. She was one of the Courier?s first subscribers. Mrs. Bergeron was well known here for a custom she started more than 30 years ago, that of giving townspeople palms from the garden of her home. She was the daughter of Abraham Wright and Mary Ann Callahan Wright of Gonzales, Louisiana.] ===============================================================================
