SAVOIE, 71, May 23 at 12:31 pm. His demise occured at Terrebonne General following an illness of several months. Requiem High Mass will be sung, May 25, at 9 am at St. Louis Church. Mr. SAVOIE was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Theophile SAVOIE, pioneer residents of Bayou Blue. He was united in marriage on May 4, 1918 to Miss Jennie MARCEL, also of Bayou Blue, who survives him. Other survivors are: one son, Dr. Isaac SAVOIE of Houma; two daughters, Mrs. Gene Illum and Mrs Albert CLODIO both of Los Angeles, California; two brothers, Ursin SAVOIE, Bayou Blue and Cyprien SAVOIE of Houma; three sisters, Mrs. Argus CHAUVIN, Miss Azelie SAVOIE, both of Bayou Blue, and Miss Laura SAVOIE of New Orleans. Six grandchildren survive. The deceased was a lifelong resident of Lafourche on Bayou Blue. He founded the P. A. SAVOIE General Merchandise Store in 1914 which he operated until 1945. He then went into the cattle business in which he was active until health failed him. SAVOIE was Post Commander of Lenox-Hotard Post 31, American Legion. He was a veteran of WWl and participated in the Battle of Chateau-Thierry. He was well known, well-liked, his death is of great loss to the community. First National is in charge of the arrangements. Military services will be held at the grave. ===============================================================================
