Daigle Richard Burton Richard Edward Burton, age 67, expired Wednesday, August 1. Mr. Burton?s death was unexpected, and may have stemmed from some form of heart problem, a member of the family said. He was a native of Thibodaux and a resident of Bayou Dularge for the past 30 years. Mr. Burton was employed as a bookkeeper for the Brady Engine Company here. In his own quiet way he endeared himself to many. His friends were numerous, as was indicated by the large attendance at his funeral services. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Margaret Brady Burton; one son, Richard E. Burton Jr., Bayou Dularge; one daughter, Mrs. John (Jacqueline) Monteiro, Houma; and seven grandchildren. Also surviving him are three brothers, Norman Burton, Houma; Harold Burton, Franklin and Clarence Burton, Sweetwater, Texas; and three sisters, Misses Nellie and Bessie Burton, Thibodaux; and Mrs. Hazel Morris, New Orleans. Funeral services were held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, August 3 from the funeral home to St. Matthews Episcopal Church with interment in Magnolia Cemetery. Daigle Sadie Chauvin Cunningham Mrs. Sadie Marie Cunningham, a native of Terrebonne Parish, died Monday, July 31, at St. James Parish, Hospital. She was 60 years old and a resident of Lutcher. Survivors include her husband, Irving Cunningham Sr.; three sons, Farrell and Irving Cunningham Jr., Lutcher, and Eugene Cunningham, Bayou Des Allemands; four daughters, Mrs. Julian Braud, Luling; Mrs. Joyce Mayeaux, Kenner; Mrs. Carolyn Accardo and Mrs. Mary Agnes Vicnair, Lutcher; four brothers, Morris Chauvin, Baton Rouge; Almond and Nolan Chauvin Jr., Houma and Martin C. Chauvin Jr., Lutcher. Her mother and father, Corinne and Martin C. Chauvin Sr., and one sister, Mrs. Julian Acosta, preceded her in death. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 2, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paulina. Daigle Mrs. Theresa Crane Mrs. Theresa Crane, a resident of 1021 School Street, died suddenly Wednesday night in New Orleans. She was 50 years of age. Mrs. Crane was a hospital comptroller at Terrebonne General Hospital and had been on vacation on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Daigle Thomas Locascio Funeral services for Thomas Locascio were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 2, from the funeral home to St. Bernadette Catholic church with interment in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery. Locascio died Monday from burns suffered in a flash fire at Tidewater Oil Company natural gas processing plant on Hollywood Road last week. Daigle Octave Aucoin Funeral services for Octave Joseph Aucoin, 87, were scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, August 10, from the funeral home to St. Ann Catholic Church, Bourg, with interment in the church cemetery. Mr. Aucoin died Tuesday, August 8, at his residence in Bourg. He was a retired farmer. Survivors include his wife, the former Lorena Guidry; five sons, Irving, Albon, roy and Lloyd Aucoin of Bourg, and Joseph Aucoin of Houma; two daughters, Mrs. Percy LeBlanc of Donaldsonville and Mrs. Raymond Boudreaux Sr. of New Orleans, 24 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren. Mr. Bourgeois died Tuesday, Aug 8, at St. Joseph Hospital in Thibodaux. He was 48, a native and life long resident of Thibodaux. Mr. Bourgeois was employed by the Bay Drilling Company. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion Ferdinand Post II. Survivors include his wife, the former Marie Louise Delatte, formerly of Houma; three sons, Terry David and Michael Bourgeois; and one daughter, Mrs. Wayne Soignier. Mrs. Cadiere died Thursday, August 10 at her residence, 126 Pitre. She was 73 and a native of Terrebonne Parish. Survivors include her husband, Thomas Cadiere; four sons, Wilbert Cadiere of Bourg; and Harris, Joseph and Shelby Cadiere of Houma; four daughters, Mrs. Ovide Babin, Mrs. Ivy Lirette, Mrs. Edmond Babin, and Mrs. Charles Dupre, all of Houma; 26 grandchildren; and 27 great grandchildren. Daigle Emelie Daigle Adams Mrs. Emilie Anne Daigle Adams, a native of Terrebonne Parish, died mond, August at St. Joseph Hospital in Thibodaux. She was 82 and a resident of 1023 Jackson Street, Thibodaux. Survivors include three sons, Roland, Henry and Johnny Adams, all of Lafourche; and three daughters, Mrs. James Armit of New Orleans; Mrs. Euclid Hernandez and Mrs. Charles Zeringue, both of Lafourche; 14 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Also surviving her are three brothers, Henry, Celestin, and Treville Daigle Jr.; and four sisters, Mrs. Herbert Legendre, Mrs. George Bergeron, Mrs. Odile Richard and Mrs. Odelia Landry. Her husband, Clay Adams; and one son, Nolan Adams, preceded her in death. Cherry Marie Duet died at 11:25, Wednesday, August 9, and Terry Mark Duet at 6:30 a.m. Thursday, August 10. Mr. and Mrs. Duet are residents of Route 1, Box 385 B, Montegut. Survivors, in addition to the infants parents include five sisters, Vickie Lynn, Ellis Fay, Belinda Marie, Monica Arin, and Tera Lee Duet. Stenson Caldwell J. Stinson, 54, died Wednesday, August 9 at Terrebonne General Hospital. He was a native of Patterson and a resident of 211 Ziegler Street, Houma. Mr. Stinson was employed by Fornoff Motor Company as a mechanic. Survivors include his wife, the former Audrey Callahan; one son, Robert Stinson of Houma; two daughters, Mrs. Harvey Ellis of Houma; and Mrs. Harvey Clement of Chackbay, and three grandchildren. Also surviving him are one brother, Nat Stinson of Arkansas; and one step sister, Mrs. Earl Bailey of Patterson. Daigle Johnny Briggs Johnny Briggs, 79, expired at his home, 155 Jenny Lane, at 12:50 p.m. on Monday, August 21. Funeral services were scheduled to be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, August 24, in New Rising Sun Baptist Church. Burial under the direction of Gertrude Geddes-Willis Funeral Home, was in the New Rising Sun Baptist Cemetery. Briggs, whose late wife was the former Olivia Thompson, is survived by two sons, Rufus of Detroit, Mich. And Charles of Roxburg, Mass., and two daughters, Mrs. Rosemary Ward of Houma and Mrs. Shirley Alexander of California. Mrs. Daigle, the former Zulma Buquet, is a lifelong resident of Houma. She is survived by one sons, Alvin Daigle, of Houma; one brother, Andrew Buquet of Amite; three grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
