LeCompte Funeral services for Leonce Joseph LeCompte, 75, were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 30, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, with interment in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2. Mr. LeCompte died Monday, August 28, at Terrebonne General Hospital. He was a native of Terrebonne Parish and a resident of 160 Gouaux Avenue. Mr. LeCompte was a retired employee of Texaco. Survivors include his wife, the former Adele Levron; three brothers, Oliver and Wallace LeCompte of Houma; and Wilson LeCompte of Conroe, Texas; and six sisters, Mrs. Julius Martinschil and Mrs. Tilly Rust, both of Galveston; Mrs. Evans Sourdellia, Port Arthur; Mrs. Paul Robichaux, Gibson; Mrs. Joseph Bourg, Little Caillou; and Mrs. Harris Guidry, Bayou Dularge. Nadler A former Houma resident, Mrs. Carl S. Nadler, was killed instantly in an automobile accident Wednesday on the Airline Highway at Sorrento, according to state police. Her chauffeur was injured critically. Trooper Bill Seals said that a truck hit the car they were riding in broadside as they attempted to turn left off the Airline onto LA 72 at 6:28 p.m. Mrs. Nadler, 79, was the widow of Carl S. Nadler, founder of Nadler Foundry and Machine Co., Inc in Plaquemine and former employee of Southdown Sugars Inc. here. She was a resident in Plaquemine at the time of her death. Survivors include one son, William Nadler. The body 2 was taken to Wilbert Funeral Home in Plaquemine. Daigle Kevin Bourgeois Funeral services for Kevin John Bourgeois, 7, were scheduled for Thursday, sept. 7, 3:30 p.m., in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Cutoff. Kevin, a student at Holy Rosary Catholic School in Larose, died Sept. 6, 3:15 a.m., in New Orleans. He was a resident of Larose. Interment was in the Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery under direction of Falgout Funeral Home, Galliano. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Bourgeois; two brothers, Beryl and Dave Jr.; and one sister, Ruth, all of Cutoff. =========================== Houma, LA: Courier Sept. 8, 1967, Friday Submitted by: Cynthia F. Daigle Violet Dierker Mrs. William C. Dierker, 71 the former Violet Yeida, of Overland Missouri, died September 4 in St. Louis, Missouri. Mrs. Dierker had a number of relatives in the Houma area and was a frequent visitor to Houma. She was a sister of the late Sherman DeYeide, Houma resident. Somehow, according to a local relative, the spelling of the family last name has undergone change over the years. Locally, Mrs. Dierker has two nieces and two nephews. They are Mrs. James E. Lockwood of 215 Hialeah, Mrs. Ted Borowski, 600 Central Avenue, Daniel DeYeide, Gladys Street, and Jerry DeYeide, 201 New Orleans Avenue. A number of great nieces and one great nephew also reside in Houma. Funeral services for Mrs. Dierker were held at 9 a.m. September 7 at Our Lady of the Presentation Church in Overland, Missouri, with burial in National Cemetery at Jefferson. =========================== Houma, LA: Courier Sept. 8, 1967, Friday Submitted by: Cynthia F. Daigle James McCarroll James C. McCarroll, 83, died at his residence in Springfield, La. Monday, September 4 at approximately 11 p.m. Mr. McCarroll was the father of Jerry McCarroll, local manager of West Brothers No. 1 in the Sundbury Shopping Center and President of Houma Retail Merchant Association of the Chamber of Commerce. According to McCarroll, funeral services for his father had been set tentatively for 11 a.m., Thursday, September 7. However, rites will depend upon time of arrival of a son, Johnny, who is with the U. S. Navy. Mr. McCarroll is survived by his wife, the former Ollie Gordon. One son, Julius, preceded his father in death. Four sons and a step daughter remain. Sons of the deceased include Jerry of Houma, Jimmie of Metairie, Eugene of Albany, and Johnny, a storekeeper specialist with the Navy. His step daughter is Mrs. Delores Moistere of Hammond. Of a family of eight children, six brothers and two sisters, Mr. McCarroll was the only remaining member. He had been retired from farming for a number of years. Funeral services, subject to possible change, have been scheduled at the First Baptist Church in Albany, Louisiana with interment in St. James Chapel Cemetery. Daigle Clara Morris Mrs. Clara Tarleton Morris, 81, of Patterson, Louisiana and Houma died Sunday, September at the Moody House Nursing Home in Galveston. Death came at at 5:50 p.m. Sunday. Mrs. Morris, the former Clara Tarleton, was the wife of the late Charles Morris of Houma. Two sons, both of whom preceded her in death were John Wyatt Boudier and Llewelyn Boudier. She is survived by two daughter, Mrs. H. P. Broderson of Lamarque, Texas and Mrs. J. W. Wilkinson of Houma. One grandchild and three great grandchildren also survive. Services were held at First National Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Tuesday with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. =========================== Houma, LA: Courier Sept. 8, 1967, Friday Submitted by: Cynthia F. Daigle A. J. Poiencot Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 6 at 11 a.m. for Abner Joseph Poiencot, Sr., 49, who died Monday. Mr. Poiencot was a resident of 201 Marmande St. Houma. He was employed by the City of Houma as operator of the electrical power plant. He is survived by his wife, the former Estellina Rita Hebert, and three children. His sons are Abner Joseph Jr. of Fort Polk, La., and Alcee Anthony of Houma, Mr. Poiencot?s stepdaughter, a Mrs. Lanier Soudelier of Houma. Included among survivors also are four brothers, Harvey, Louis and Virgius of Houma and Raymond of Jackson, Louisiana and four sisters, Mrs. Edward Bourg of Grand Caillou, Mrs. Nave Prestenback of Houma, Mrs. Virgin Poiencot Rodrigue of Houma and Mrs. William B. Hudson of South Carolina. Mr. Poiencot was a World War I Veteran. Chauvin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Robichaux Edven Joseph Robichaux, 64, of 1610 East Park, Houma, died Monday, September 4 at 5:30 a.m. Death came at Charity Hospital in New Orleans. Mr. Robichaux was formerly an employee of the State of Louisiana Department of Highways and had been privately engaged in the business of bicycle repair. Survivors include his wife, the former Florence Pitre; three sons and three daughters. The sons of the deceased are Vernon of Schriever, and Vergus and Edwin, both of Houma. Mr. Robichauxs surviving daughters are Mrs. Ernest P. LeBoeuf of Bourg, Mrs. Ernest Anthony Guy of Little Caillou, and Mrs. Jester William Gray, of Jennings, Louisiana. He also leaves 16 grandchildren. Funeral services were at 3 p.m. Tuesday, September 5 from Chauvin Funeral Home to Holy Rosary Catholic Church with interment in Dugas Cemetery at Montegut. =========================================== ===========================
