Daigle Joachin Savoie Dies June 23 at His Home JOACHIN SAVOIE Funeral services were held Monday, June 24, at 11 am in the Holy Rosary Catholic Church for Joachin Peter Savoie, 80. Interment was in the Magnolia Cemetery under the direction of Chauvin Funeral Home. Mr Savoie died at his home 2206 East Main Street, at 1:40 am. He was retired from the seafood industry, having been employed by Morgan Packing Company. Survivors include his wife, the former Bertha Eschete; one son, Kirby of Victory, Australia; five daughters, Mrs Easton Dumond, Mrs Albert Henry, Mrs Francis Fazzio, Mrs George Henry and Miss Betty Ray Savoie, all of this city; eleven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. ============================ Houma, Terrebonne Parish, LA Courier; June 25, 1968 Submitted by Cynthia F. Daigle Lowney Lebouef Dies June 24 LOWNEY LEBOUEF Lowney Joseph Lebouef, 74, died in the Terrebonne General Hospital on June 24, 8:15 am. He was a resident of Rt. 1 Box 2-A, Montegut. At presstime, funeral arrangements had not been completed. Burial will be in the Bisland Cemetery under the direction of Chauvin Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife, the former Nora Savoie; one son, Horace of Montegut; two daughters, Mrs Clifton Savoie of Montegut and Mrs Modris Pellegrin of Little Caillou; 23 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. ============================ Houma, Terrebonne Parish, LA Courier; June 25, 1968 Submitted by Cynthia F. Daigle Moses Services Held Saturday Afternoon at 2 LAWRENCE MOSES The Rev. Lawrence Charles Moses, 65, died following a lengthy illness at 11:05 am in the Terrebonne General Hospital. He was a resident of 131 Acklin Street, and former pastor of the New Fountain Baptist Church in Lockport. Funeral services were held Saturday June 22, 2 pm, in the Residence Baptist Church. Interment followed immediately in the St. John Cemetery under the direction of Terrebonne Funeral Home. He is survived by is wife, the former Otis Harris of this city; two sons, Lawrence Jr. stationed in Indiana with the U. S. Air Force; and Claude of Houma; two daughters, Miss Susie M. Moses of Houma, and Mrs Rosemary Cannon of Houma; and seven grandchildren. Daigle HAWKINS rites Scheduled for Wednesday PM JIMMY HAWKINS Funeral services for Jimmy Hawkins Jr., 60, will be held on June 26, 2 pm, in the St. Luke Baptist Church, Waterproof. Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Terrebonne Funeral Home. Mr Hawkins, a retired farmer, was a native of Terrebonne Parish. He died following a lengthy illness at 3:15 am, June 22, at his home on Mandalay Plantation on Big Bayou Black. He is survived by his wife, the former Hazel Akins; five sons, Lester, Eddie and Lionel, all of Houma, Jimmy lll of New York City and Freddie of Florida; two daughters, Mrs Doris Brown and Mrs Delores Hayes, both of Houma; two brothers, Freddie of Houma and Frank of Houston, Tex.; and one sister, Zenobia Hawkins of this city. ============================
