Daigle Kathleen C. Savoie and Ronald J. Savoie Jr. Two Die in Train-Auto Wreck A Cut Off woman and her four year old son are dead as a result of an auto-train collision Sunday at 2:21 pm, west of Schriever, approximately 200 feet north of the Schriever - Morgan City Highway. The fatality victims have been identified by State Police as Mrs. Kathleen C. Savoie, 27, RFD Box 314 East Cut Off, and Ronald J. Savoie Jr., 4. Driver of the auto, Ronald Savoie, and a second child, five year old Shada Ann, incurred severe injuries reported State Police and both were treated at St. Joseph Hospital and transferred to Oschner Foundation Hospital in New Orleans. Troopers on the scene said Savoie was traveling west on LA 658 (in the Schriever area) and apparently was unaware of the approaching Southern Pacific train. State Police said the train collided with the right side of the auto. Daigle Virginia Belanger Funeral services will be held at 11 am Wednesday in St. Ann's Catholic Church of Bourg for Mrs. Virginia Belanger, 69, of Bourg, who died at 1:30 pm Monday at her home. Burial in the church cemetery will be under direction of Chauvin Funeral Home. Survivors include her husband, Adonist J. Belanger; three sons, Nolan and Raymond Belanger, both of Houma, and Terry Belanger of Montegut; a daughter, Mrs. Amelia B. Chauvin of Houma; three brothers, Mitch Belanger of Chauvin, Henry and C. J. Belanger, both of Franklin; and three daughters, Mrs. Ida Morales of Franklin, Mrs. Ovelia Henry and Mrs. Olivia Robichaux, both of Montegut. Daigle Marie Papin Mrs. Marie Lafont Papin, 78, of Golden Meadow, died at 5:45 pm Monday in Sako Nursing Home of Raceland. Funeral services will be held at 10 am Wednesday in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church of Golden Meadow. Burial in Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano will be under the direction of Falgout Funeral Homes Inc. of Galliano. Survivors include two sons, Robertson Rebstock and Leon Cheramie; a sister, Mrs. Olivetter Lafont Terrebonne of Westwego; four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Daigle Kathleen Savoie and Ronald Savoie Jr. Joint Services Scheduled for Accident Victims Joint religious services will be held at 10 am Wednesday in Holy Rosary Catholic Church of Larose for Mrs. Kathleen Cantrelle Savoie, 27, of Larose and her four year old son, Ronald J. Savoie Jr. Mrs. Savoie and her son were killed in an auto-train collision Sunday at 2:21 pm west of Schriever approximately 200 feet north of the Schriever - Morgan City Highway. Burial in the church cemetery will be under the direction of Falgout Funeral Homes Inc. of Raceland. Until time of services, the bodies will lie in state at the V. F. W. Community Center in Larose. Mrs. Savoie is survived by her husband, Ronald J. Savoie; daughter, Shada Ann Savoie; her parents, Mr. Na Mrs. Forest Cantrelle; a sister, Mrs. Wayne Roussel. She was preceded in death by a brother, Gus Cantrelle. Besides being survived by his father, Ronald J. Savoie and a sister, Shada Ann Savoie, the Savoie child is also survived by his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Forest Cantrelle, and his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Savoie of Valentine.
