Daigle Nelson Buquet Nelson Paul Buquet, 42, and a resident of 1718 West Main St., died Wednesday, Dec. 13 at 8:57 am. He was the husband of Jeanette Pitre and son of the late Mabel Theriot and Theophile Buquet. Children, all of Houma, include Barry and Nelson Buquet Jr. and Donna Buquet. He was the brother of Junius Buquet of Lockport and Mrs. Benny LeCompte of Houma. Services have been scheduled for Friday, Dec. 15 at 10 am from Chauvin Funeral Home with religious services to follow at Maria Immacolata Catholic Church. Daigle Victoria Gautreaux Victoria Marcel Bergeron Gautreaux, an 87 year old native of Bayou Blue who had been residing in Houma for the past 50 years, died here Wednesday, Dec. 13 at approximately 8:55 pm. She was the wife of the late Clay Gautreaux and mother of Ivy, Clifton, Vincent and Viles Bergeron, the late Alvin Bergeron and Mrs. Hubert Boudilon. She was the sister of Victor and Nat Marcel, Mrs. Lawrence Crochet, and the late Freddie, Theophile and Robert Marcel as well s the half sister of Mrs. John Eschette and Leonard Marcel. She is also survived by 27 grandchildren. Funeral services will take place Friday, Dec. 15 at 8:30 am from First National funeral Home, with religious services to begin at 9 am from Maria Immacolata Catholic Church. P.' Savoie Dies Here Wednesday O. P. Savoie, well-known area life insurance executive, died Wednesday night at Terrebonne General Hospital following a brief illness. He was 58. Savoie was district manager of the Woodmen of the World Life Insurance Society, having been employed by the firm for the past 26 years. A native of Cankton in St. Landry Parish, Savoie joined the Woodmen in 1946 and moved to Houma a year later as a field representative. When he began his work with the Woodmen in Houma, the local camp had membership of 86; the camp grew steadily under his leadership, having reached a membership of more than 1,200 this year. During the 1950's Savoie was elevated to the position of district manager and later to area manager. In 1966 he was appointed state manager and moved to Lafayette for one year. After a brief illness he resigned the Lafayette position and returned to field production in Houma, again as district manager. Savoie was often honored on the district, state and national levels for outstanding production. In 1972 he was awarded the WOW's "President's Trophy" for leading his district to first place in production "in the United States". Prior to joining the Woodmen of the World, Savoie was overseer of a large farm in Sunset, Louisiana. During his early tenure with the Woodmen, Savoie was instrumental in establishment of an annual Christmas party for underprivileged children in the Houma area. He is survived by his wife, the former Bertha Olivier; one son, Errol of Baton Rouge; two daughters, Patricia (Mrs. John Hunt) of Houston, Texas and Olive (Mrs. Whitney Belanger) of Baton Rouge. He is also survived by three brothers: Austin of Church Point; Louis of Lake Arthur; and Leroy of Lake Charles; and five sisters: Mrs. Edna Roxas of Ville Platte, Mrs. Lorena Hernandez, Mrs. Bertha Beaugh and Mrs. Mable Jagneaux all of Church Point and Mrs. Batile Burleigh of Port Arthur, Texas. Other survivors include his step-mother, Mrs. Una Savoie of Lake Charles and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Savoie of Sunset and a brother, Laurent of Lake Charles. Funeral Services are scheduled for 11 am Friday at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church with burial in St. Francis cemetery No. 2. Visitation will begin at 4:30 pm Thursday at Chauvin Funeral Home which is in charge of the arrangements.
