Daigle Chester Denley Chester Lamar Denley, a long-time employee with South Coast Sugar and retired for the last two years, died at the age of 75 in Alexandria Tuesday, October 9 at 12 noon. His granddaughter, Mrs. Wayne Colvin, said Mr. Denley had worked for South Coast and lived at Ashland Plantation for 30 years prior to his retirement. He then moved to Alexandria where he made his home on Bush St. A native of Coffeeville, Miss., he was married to Mrs. Magdaline Denley and the father of Dr. Malcolm Denley of Alexandria and the late Robert Denley of Tampa, Florida. He is also survived by seven additional grandchildren, Mrs. Colvin said, as well as brothers and sisters who all reside in Coffeeville. Services were expected to be held in Alexandria today, October 10, with burial rites in that same city. ============================ Houma Courier, Oct. 10, 1973, Wednesday Submitted by Cynthia F. Daigle Ted Joseph Savoie Ted Joseph Savoie, a native and resident of Lockport, died there Monday, Oct 8 at 10:20 am at the age of 21. He was the son of Mrs. Pearl Eschette Savoie and Oscar Savoie and the brother of Oscar Savoie Jr. Services were planned for earlier today from St. Hilary Catholic Church in Mathews, with burial rites to follow in Holy Savior Catholic Cemetery in Lockport. Daigle Correction Helena Verret A family spokesman from the Helena Verret family reported Mrs. Verret, who died Friday, Oct. 5, was also the mother of the late Mrs. Amanda Soilet, the late Cecile Verret and the late Doyle Verret. ================================================================================ Houma Courier, Oct. 21, 1973, Sunday Submitted by Cynthia F. Daigle Leroy LeBlanc Leroy Joseph LeBlanc, a resident of Star Route Box 142, Chauvin, died Saturday, Oct. 20 at Terrebonne General Hospital at 4 am, at the age of 46. He was the husband of Mrs. Joyce LeBlanc and the father of Danny, Brian, Randy, Kevin and Craig LeBlanc. He was the brother of Mrs. Clinton Picou and Mrs. Wallace LeBoeuf. Visitation is planned at the residence. Funeral services are planned for Monday, Oct. 22 at 10 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chauvin, with burial rites to follow in the church cemetery. Lorraine died in a pedestrian-auto accident at Cut Off Thursday, Oct 18 at 7:30 pm at the age of 63 as she was attempting to cross La. Hwy. 308. She was the wife of the late Louis Savoie by first marriage and the late Kirby Lorraine by second marriage. A native of Larose and resident of Cut Off, she was the mother of Mrs. Norman Henry of Humbolt, Tenn. and the sister of Mrs. Clifton Seymour, Mrs. Stanley Dobson, Mrs. Jake Bowsman and the late Adam, Gus and Robert Savoie and Melloway Melancon. She was also survived by one grandchild. Services were held in cut Off Saturday, Oct 20, with burial rites following in Holy Rosary Cemetery in Larose. Daigle Melvin Toups Melvin Toups, a resident of 410 Mire St., died Thursday, Oct. 18 at the age of 42 at his home at 4 pm. Services will be conducted at 10 am Monday, Oct. 22 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, with interment to follow at St. Francis de Sales No. 2 Cemetery. His children are Michael Toups and Mrs. Sandra Adams, both of Rock Springs, Wyo.
