Daigle Chad Callais Chad J. Callais, native and resident of Galliano, died at the age of 17 months at Galliano Thursday, Jan. 3, at 10 am. The Callais youngster was the son of Carl J. Callais and Toni Blanchard, and the brother of Carl Callais Jr. He was the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Smith Blanchard and Mrs. Joe E. Callais and the late Mr. Callais. He was the great grandson of Mrs. Georgia Blanchard. End of copy. Folse, a native and resident of Raceland, died at Marrero Thursday, Jan. 3 at 7:30 am at the age of 30. He was the husband of Helen Pertuit Folse and father of Celeste and Kendall Folse. He was the brother of Mrs. Eugene (Earline) Lingley, Mrs. Edward (Betty) Pertuit, Mrs. Nolan (Helen) Pierce, Mrs. Eugene (Sylvia) LeBlanc, Mrs. Carlos (Patsy) Douglas as well as Irvin, Dave, Milton (Bobby) and Richard Folse. He was also the brother of the late Earl and Ella Mae Folse and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Adolph P. Folse. Daigle Onelia Savoie Matherne Mrs. Onelia Mary Savoie Matherne, a resident of 300 Marmande St., died Thursday, Jan 3 at 8 am at her home. She was 81. She was the wife of the late Mr. Prevail Matherne and mother of LeRoy Matherne, Mrs. Viola Tollefson, Mrs. Verna Caskey, Mrs. Rita Traweek and Mrs. Merril Marcel, all of Houma. Mrs. Magorie Stear of New Iberia and the late Morris Matherne and the late Mrs. Mildred Winders. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Mrs. Matherne was a Gold Star Mother of the American Legion Lenox-Hotard Unit 31 and held membership in the Women's Christian Association. Services for Mrs. Matherne are planned at 3:30 pm Saturday, Jan 5 at Houma Heights Methodist Church, with interment to follow at Matherne Cemetery at Bayou Blue. Daigle Tyler Miller Tyler James Miller, 15 year old victim of an accidental shooting at 908 Broadmoor Ave. Wednesday, Jan. 2, died that same night at 11:30 pm. He was pronounced dead on arrival at Charity Hospital in New Orleans. The Miller youth was a transfer patient from Terrebonne General Hospital. He was the son of Everett Miller of Grand Caillou and Mrs. Sherill Benoit and the step-son of Douglas Benoit. He resided at 2607 K St. in this city. A student attending Evergreen Junior High, he was the brother of Everett Miller Jr. and Dana Benoit. He was the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Dozeta Miller and Mrs. Paul Fanguy and the step-grandson of Gaston Benoit and Mrs. Clara Benoit of Raceland. Services for the Miller youth will be held at 11 am Saturday Jan. 5 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, with burial rites to follow at St Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2. Daigle Elmo Vedros Elmo Vedros, a native of St. John Parish and a resident of 702 Broadmoor Ave., died today, Jan. 4, at 9 am at the age of 59 at Terrebonne General Hospital. He was the spouse of Mrs. Lena Vedros and the father of Mrs. Dale (Gayle) Bourgeois, Mrs. Frank (Diane) Butler and Mrs. Leroy (Joyce) Hebert, all of Houma. He was the son of Mrs. Joseph Vedros of New Orleans. He was the brother of the late Lloyd Vedros. He is also survived by eight grandchildren. Mr. Vedros was a member of Unity Lodge No. 267, F & AM Masons. Visitation from McCleary Funeral Home will begin today at 4 pm, with a 7:30 pm rosary to be recited tonight. A 4 pm Mass will be celebrated at the McCleary Chapel Saturday, Jan. 5, with burial rites to follow at Terrebonne Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, family member have requested all donations in Mr. Vedros name be made to the American Cancer Society. Daigle Claude Savoie, a resident of Houma, died at his home at 9 pm Monday, Jan 7 at the age of 64. He was the husband of Eleanor Duet Savoie and the father of Warren and George Savoie, Mrs. Godfrey (Marie) Buquet, and Mrs. Robert (Earline) Slaaen, all of Houma. He was the brother of Mrs. Paul Fanguy and Mrs. Gilbert Olivier of Houma, Mrs. David Porche of Algiers, Mrs. Joseph Langridtge of Belle Chase, and Charles Savoie of Kenner. He is also survived by seven grandchildren. Visitation will begin Tuesday afternoon at 3 pm and a Rosary will be said at 7:30 pm Tuesday night at Chauvin First National Funeral Home. Religious services will be held Wednesday, Jan 9 at 11 am at the St. Bernadette Catholic church at 409 Funderburk St. Houma. Burial rites will follow at the St. Francis No. one Cemetery.
