Daigle Joseph Benoit Joseph W. Benoit, a native and resident of Thibodaux died Saturday, Aug. 9 at 1:30 p.m. at the age of 56. He was the husband of Mrs. Louise H. Benoit and is the stepfather of Sandra LaMaison. He was the brother of Hazel Benoit, Mrs. Alcide Talbot and Paul Russell, Francis William, Milton, Johnny and Larry Benoit. He is also survived by two step-grandchildren. Relatives and friends of the family, along with officers and members of Ferdinand Lefort Post II of the American Legion are invited to attend the funeral Tuesday, Aug. 12 at 10:45 a.m. from Landry's Funeral Home at Thibodaux. Religious services will be held at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church. Interment will be at St. John Episcopal Cemetery. Visitation services will be held Monday, Aug. 11 from 2:30 to 11 p.m., and Tuesday, Aug. 12 from 8 a.m. to funeral time. Daigle Lona Currier Lona Tabor Currier, a native of New Orleans and a resident of Metairie, died Sunday, Aug. 10 at 2:35 p.m. at the age of 21. She was the daughter of Lloyd (Roy) Tabor and the former Delta Allemand and was the mother of Michelle Currier. She is survived by a brother, Larry Tabor and a sister Mrs. Carrol (Linda) Perrett and her grandparents. Visitation services will be held at Thibodaux Funeral Home Monday, Aug. 11 from 5:30 to 10 p.m. and Tuesday, Aug. 12 from 8 a.m. to funeral time. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 12 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church of Chackbay. Interment will be held at the church cemetery at Chackbay. Daigle Irvin Blanchard Irvin Joseph Blanchard, 50, a resident of 221 Cleveland St., died at 11:25 a.m. Wednesday. He was the husband of Stella Carrere Blanchard and the son of the late Clamille Blanchard and the late Albertine Benoit Blanchard. He was also the father of Roger Blanchard and Mrs. Wilson (Margie) Fabre of Grand Caillou and the brother of Arthur Blanchard, Robert Blanchard, Mrs. Willis Domangue, Mrs. Lindsey Hebert, and Mrs. Anthony Voisin, Sr. of Grand Caillou,, Linus and Camille Blanchard of Houma, Mrs. Adam Vizier of Cutoff, the late George Blanchard, Sr. and the late Albert Blanchard. Survivors include his three grandchildren, Jerome Fabre, Cindy Blanchard and Nicole Blanchard. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Dumond, 73, died at 7:30 a.m. Thursday at a local nursing home. He was the husband of Mrs. Bernice Bourg Dumond and the son of the late John Pierre Dumond and the late Margret Fanguy. He is also the father of Allen Dumond and the late Nolan Dumond. Survivors include his sisters, Mrs. Anna Chauvin, Mrs. Aline Voisin and Mrs. Felecie Callahan of Theriot and Mrs. Lenor Swann of New Orleans and his four grandchildren. Mr. Dumond was a resident of 1100 Suthon Ave. and was a retired farmer. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, at St. Gregory Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the St. Eloi Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Thursday and will continue until funeral time. Daigle Viola Picou Viola Marie Picou, 73, a native of Montegut and a resident of Houma, died at 10:15 Wednesday at Terrebonne General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Joseph Picou. She was also the mother of John and Calvin Picou of Houma, Justin Picou of Cameron, Mrs. Milton Thibodeaux of New Orleans, Mrs. Davis Crothers and Miss Maggie Picou of Houma and Mrs. Paul Jones of Marrero. Survivors include her sisters, Cornelia Pelligrin and Fronzie Picou of Little Caillou, her 45 grandchildren and her 41 great grandchildren. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Funeral services were held Thursday at McCleary's Funeral Home. Interment followed in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery. Daigle Mrs. Lycia Savoie Mrs. Lycia Lirette Savoie, 98, resident of 400 Columbus St. died at 1 p.m. Wednesday. She was the wife of the late Edward Savoie and the daughter of the late Homer and the late Elvire Babin Lirette. She was also the mother of Louis Savoie of Houma, Mrs. L. V. Toups of Big(?Bay?) Town, Texas, Mrs. Charlotte Dilione of New Jersey, Mrs. Rita Vindel of New Orleans, the late Stanley and Junius Savoie and the late Miss Camille Savoie and the late Mrs. Sadie Eschete. Survivors include her nine grandchildren and her 15 great grandchildren. Mrs. Savoie is preceded in death by her brothers, Albert Lirette, Gilbert Lirette and Charles Lirette; and sisters, Mrs. Emile Levron, Mrs. John LeBlanc and Mrs. Eva Percle. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Friday at St. Francis de Sales Catholic church. Interment will follow in St. Francis Cemetery #2. Visitation is now in progress. She was the wife of the late Sam V. Catanese. She was mother of Mrs Ethel C. LaCour of Houma and the sister of Tony and Nino Dagate of Houma and Mrs Mary Guidry of Houma. Survivors include her two grandchildren and her great grandchild. Mrs Catanese was a native of Italy and was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Funeral services will be held at 3 pm Thursday at the McCleary Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Terrebonne Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation is set to begin at 3 pm Wednesday and is to continue until midnight. Naquin, 54, died Tuesday at 9:30 pm. He was the husband of Jane Frost Naquin and the son of the late E. P. Naquin and Lily Naquin. He was also the father of Herman Louis Naquin Jr., Mrs. James (Ellen) Swift Pefer Brent, Suzette Ann, Jane Hellen, and Mary Louise Naquin, all of Thibodaux. Survivors include his brother, Warren Naquin; his sister, Mrs. Robert Lottinger of Houma, Mrs. N.K. Edrington and Mrs. Harry Mire Jr. of Thibodaux; and his grandchild. Mr. Naquin is preceded in death by his sister, the late Mrs. J.A. Landry. Relatives and friends as well as officers and members of the Louisiana Peace Officers Association and the American Legion Ferdinand Lefort Post 11 are invited to attend the funeral. Services will be held Thursday at 2:30 from Landry's Funeral Home Thibodaux to St. Joseph Catholic Church Thibodaux. Interment will following the church cemetery.
