Daigle Celine Aucoin Celine R. Aucoin, native and resident of Thibodaux, died at the age of 80 years Saturday at 2:35 pm. She was the wife of the late Willie Aucoin by first marriage and of the late O'Niel Aucoin by second marriage. She was the mother of Mrs. Ferdinand (Verna) Chiasson, Mrs. Nick (Anna Mae) Martinolich, Mrs. Louis (Delores) Hebert, Mrs. Noah (Ethel) Andras, Elton and Murphy Aucoin. The deceased was the sister of Juliette Guillot and step-sister of Mrs. Gustave Tabor and Mrs. Andre Bourgeths. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Services were from Landry Funeral Home this morning to St. John Catholic Church for the funeral at 11 am. Interment was in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Belvin Sr., a native of Lee County, South Carolina and resident of Rt. 1 Box 14 LeCompte Dr., Bourg, died at the age of 75 years Monday at 3:40 am. He is survived by his wife, Lena Domangue Belvin, by a son James M. Belvin Jr. of Willets, California; and by two daughters, Mrs. Doris Calcutt and Mrs. Dorothy Young, both of Daytona Beach, Florida. He was the brother of Mrs. Carlene Cole of Buthune, South Carolina, and of Mrs. Lola Belle Smith and Mrs. Leona Shoupe, both of North Charleston, South Carolina. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Belvin. Services will be held at Chauvin -First National Funeral Home Chapel Wednesday at 10 am with the Rev. Calvin Hazelwood officiating. Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Gray. Visitation will be from 5 pm until 10 pm Tuesday and from 8 am until funeral time Wednesday. Daigle, native and resident of Labadieville, died at the age of 38 years Sunday at 6 am. He was the son of Robert Daigle and Mable Benoit Daigle, and father of Tammy Daigle. The deceased was the brother of Jaston Daigle. Services will be from Landry Funeral Home in Labadieville Tuesday at 11 am to St. Philomena Catholic Church for the funeral. Guillot, a native and resident of Thibodaux, died at the age of 68 years Sunday at 12:30 pm. He was the husband of Lydia Tabor Guillot and father of Mrs. Andrew Thibodaux, Mrs. James McCarthy, Mrs. Norvin Kramer, Mrs. Reese Bernard, Paul and Edgar Guillot and the late Theresa and Melvin Guillot. Thirty grandchildren and one great grandchild also survive the deceased. Services will be from Landry Funeral Home Tuesday at 9:30 am to St. Genevieve Catholic Church for the funeral at 9 am. LeCompte Ruffin Charles LeCompte, age 78 years, died at 10 am Friday. He was a native and resident of Terrebonne Parish. He was the husband of America Pitre LeCompte and father of Percy, Aubrey, Lester, Chester and Charles LeCompte and of Mrs. Easton (Helen) Soudelier, Mrs. J. B. (Barbara) Breaux, and the late Dorothy and Cyrus LeCompte. He was the brother of Sidney, Gilbert and Harris LeCompte and of Mrs. Mable Cunningham, Mrs. Laura Malbrough, Mrs. Oscar LeBlanc and the late Ecton LeCompte. Thirty-two grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren also survive the deceased. Services will be from the Knights of Columbus Hall in Chauvin to St. Joseph Catholic Church for religious services at 10 o'clock this morning . Interment was in St. Joseph Mausoleum. Plaisance, age 87 years, native and resident of Lockport, died at Raceland Friday at 10 pm. She was the wife of the late Joseph (Joe) Plaisance, and mother of Edward and J. C. Plaisance. She was the sister of Albert Bourgeois and the late Ernestine Plaisance, Celestine LeBlanc, Cecile LeBlanc, Lucina Belanger, Joseph Jr., Claude and Taylor Bourgeois. She is also survived by five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The funeral was held this morning at Holy Savior Catholic Church in Lockport at 10:30 o'clock. Daigle Mary Sims Mrs. Mary Sims, lifelong resident of Terrebonne Parish, died at her Rt. 3 Box 125 home at 5:45 am Dec. 6 at the age of 85 years. She was the mother of Herman, Isaac Jr., Clarence, and Harry Sims, all of Houma and of Mrs. Maggie Dennis of New Orleans. She was preceded in death by her husband and by two daughters. Thirty-seven grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and other relatives and friends also survive the deceased. Wake services are scheduled for 8:30 pm until midnight tonight at St. John Baptist Church. The funeral will be held Tuesday at 3 pm at St. John Baptist Church with the Rev. Leonard Celestin presiding. Interment will be in New Zion Cemetery. He was the husband of Alidia Guidry Vegas and father of Joseph, Wilfred (Coco), Edway and Earl Vegas, and of Mrs. Victor (Dorida) Pitre, Mrs. Edwina (Vin) Ginter, Mrs. Jesse (Madeline) Duet, Mrs. Clayo (Ruby) Adams, Mrs. Wester (Marian) Charpentier, Mrs. Alvin (Beatrice) Charpentier and of the late Raphael and Alfred Vegas. He was the brother of Pierre Vegas and Mrs. Noel (Virginia) Cretini and of the late Edward, Alfred, Gilliam, Moise and Severin Vegas and of the late Mrs. Ulysse (Alice) Gisclair and the late Mrs. George (Margaret) Cheramie. Twenty-seven grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, four step grandchildren and two step great grandchildren also survive the deceased. She was the daughter of the late Leonard Waguespack and Augusta Hebert, and sister of Mrs. Charles Duet, Amilcar and Louis Fernard Wagues pack and the late Marie and Luke Waguespack. Services are scheduled from Landry Funeral Home in Thibodaux at 9:30 am Tuesday to St. Bridget Catholic Church for religious services at 10 am. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Daigle Kirby Savoie Man Found Dead Beside Highway; 'Natural Causes' The body of a Houma man was discovered lying in a ditch yesterday on the shell road connecting La. Hwy. 56 to Country Drive in Bourg, deputies reported today. Kirby A. Savoie, 40, of 216 Cherbourg St. was found by Dep. Carl Kimball about 5:30 pm near an abandoned pickup truck. According to a preliminary report, there is no evidence of foul play and it is believed that Savoie died of natural causes. Dep. Kimball reported that he had stopped to investigate the abandoned truck and found the body lying face up in the nearby ditch. Mrs. Savoie said she last saw her husband about 10 am Saturday, deputies reported today. According to the report Mrs. Savoie said "he was in the habit of taking off and being gone for two or three days at a time". Rites Mr. Savoie was the husband of Mrs. Shirley Savoie of Houma; the son of Mrs. Bertha Savoie of Houma; the father of Sheila Savoie; and the brother of Mrs. Easton Dumont, Mrs. Albert Henry, Mrs. Francis Fazzio, Mrs. George Henry and Miss Betty Rae Savoie. Visitation is scheduled to begin at 1 pm Monday. Funeral services will be Tuesday, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with interment in Holy Rosary Cemetery. Time of services was not yet available.
