Visitation will be from 10 am to 11 pm Sunday, and from 8 am until funeral time Monday. The funeral will be at 10 am Monday at the St. Francis de Sales Cathedral in Houma. Burial will be in the Holy Family Cemetery on Grand Caillou Road. Survivors include two sons, Harold and Elsie J. Matherne, both of Houma; a step son, Thomas Matherne of Houma; a daughter, Mrs. Claude (Pearl) Rochel of Gibson; 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband A. Joseph Matherne, and her parents, Pauline Boueton and Alexandra Armond. Melancon, 68, a native and resident of Larose, died 11:20 am Friday in Raceland. Funeral services will begin at 9:45 am in the VFW Community Center in Larose, followed by religious services at 10 in Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Larose, with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Nola M. Perez. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Willie Joseph Melancon; and a sister, Mrs. Victoria Falgout. Savoie, 21, a native and resident of Lockport, died in Dulac Friday at 2:43 pm. Visitation is from 2 pm until 12 pm Sunday, and from 7 am Monday until funeral time. The funeral will be held on Monday at 10:45 am at Falgout Funeral Home, Lockport. Religious services will follow at 11:00 am at the Holy Savior Catholic Church in Lockport. Survivors include a son, Ed Chiasson; a daughter, Mrs. Harry (Edith) Gros; eight grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Survivors include her husband, Bernard Jeffery; four sons, Bernard Jr., Cantrell, Roland and Leroy Jeffery; two daughters, Mrs. Cleo Baptiste and Mrs. Ardrean Joseph; five brothers, Foster, Clovis, Wilkerson, Florien and Neviel Oubre; a sister, Mrs. Elnoria Morel; and several relatives and friends.
