He was 2 days old. The infant is survived by three brothers, Charles Jr., Maurice and a twin, Lester; and by a sister, Melinda. Graveside services were held at 1 pm Saturday at St. John's Cemetery in Mechanicville. The Rev. David Smith officiated. Cheramie, 70, a native and resident of Cut Off, died 9 pm Friday at Galliano. Visitation begins 10 am today at the Falgout Funeral Home, Inc., Galliano, and continues until funeral time. The funeral will be 9:30 am Monday from the funeral home with religious services following, 10 am, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Lucille Callais Cheramie; a son, Gus Cheramie; a daughter, Mrs. Berlin C. McCullough; a sister, Mrs. Levy Griffin; two stepsisters, Mrs. Menton Jambon and Mrs. Aramis Martin; a brother, Webb Cheramie; 12 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Ella Mae Cheramie; three brothers, Landry, Jefferson and Davis Cheramie; a stepbrother, Wilkerson Cheramie. Visitation begins 10 am today at the Falgout Funeral Home, Inc., Galliano, and continues until funeral time. The funeral will be Monday, time pending, from the funeral home, with religious services following at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Golden Meadow. Burial will be in the Hebert Cemetery in Golden Meadow. Survivors include his wife, Yvonne Terrebonne Savoie; five brothers, Luke, Morris, Nolan, Milton and Herman Savoie; four sisters, Mrs. Della Martensen, Mrs. Doris Boudreaux, Velma Arceneaux and Mrs. Lou Emma Mobley. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Savoie; and a brother, Sylvester Savoie. She is a native of Terrebonne Parish and at the time of her death a resident of 407 Ashlawn St. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Monday at St. Luke Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery following. Visitation will be held at the Gertrude Geddes Willis-Terrebonne Funeral Home from 4 - 6 pm Sunday. A wake will be held at the home later that day from 8 - 11:30 pm. Survivors include her husband, James Van Buren; sons, Micheal Nixon, Ronald Nixon, Gerold Nixon, James Nixon and Andrew Nixon (all of Houma); a brother, Albert Lyons of Houma; and four sisters, Mrs. Rosadell Davis of Avondale, La., Mrs. Loise Johnson of New Orleans, Mrs. Eula Davis of Houma and Mrs. Margaret Dees of Pensacola, Fla. She is also survived by eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Lyons; her daughter, Pearl Nixon; and two sons, John and Alfred Nixon. The Rev. Willie Ruffin will be delivering the funeral service. Rev. Frank Singleton will be giving the eulogy. Funeral arrangements are being handled by G.G.
