Bertha Collins Alario, 81, a native of Golden Meadow, La., and a resident of 
Larose, La., died 7:35 p.m., Feb. 29 in Raceland. 

Visitation will begin 10 a.m. today at the VFW Community Center, Larose, La., 
continuing until 11:15 a.m. Monday. The funeral will leave 11:15 a.m., Monday, 
from the community center, with religious services 11:30 a.m. at Holy Rosary 
Catholic Church. Burial will be in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery, Golden 
Meadow, La.

Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Lillian Callais, Larose, La.; two 
grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Antoine Alario; two sons, Vincent and 
Nolta Alario; and one daughter, Emmaline Alario.

Pierre Joseph Dupre, 82, a native of Houma, died 10:05 a.m. March 1. 

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. Monday until 
funeral time. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. at Chauvin Funeral Home chapel 
followed by interment in Holy Rosary Cemetery.

Mr. Dupre is survived by his wife, Beulah Hebert Dupre; a daughter, Mrs. Lester 
(Betty) Deselle; and a brother, Dennis Dupre, all of Houma; by three sisters, 
Mrs. Luther (Lucy) Many and Mrs. Edwin (Rosie) Geissier, both of Baton Rouge; 
Mrs. Orin (Virginia) Mills, of New Orleans; and by four grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Leah LeBlanc and Pierre Dupre; two 
brothers, Louis and Jules; and two sisters, Mrs. Mae Helliun and Mrs. Lena 
Waguespack.

at South Louisiana Medical Center. 

Visitation will be Monday at New Jerusalem Baptist Church at 9 p.m. with the 
Reverend I.S. Holmes conducting services. Dismissal will be 12 a.m. Tuesday from 
the church with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Vera I. Harris; one step-daughter; Kelly 
Lagarde; two daughters, Evette and Angela Harris; three sons, Roger, Darrel and 
Glenn; his mother, Mrs. Rosie Dell Perkins Harris; two brothers, Henry and 
Joseph Harris; and a sister, Mrs. Mildred H. White, all of Houma.

He is preceded in death by his father, Clifford Harris; grandparents, Antonia

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Myrtle Beatrice Batiste; two sons, Sgt. Elmo 
Batiste of Hawaii, Elmore R. Batiste Jr. of Los Angeles, Calif.; a daughter, 
Mrs. Rose Marie Berryhill of Los Angeles, Calif.; three brothers, Clarence, 
Alvin and Henry Brown; two foster children, Nathaniel Jones and Michael Parker; 
15 grandchildren, nephews other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Elmeda Frank and Ernest Batiste; his 
grandparents, Rebecca and Louis Watson; a sister Velma Parker.

MRS. BLANCHE MCKEY

Mrs Blanche McKey, 86, a native and lifelong resident of Centreville, Miss. 
died 8 am Monday at her residence.

The funeral was held today at the Newman Funeral Home Chapel, Cosby Street, 
Centreville, Miss., with burial following in the Oaklawn Cemetery in 
Centreville.  The Rev. Jimmy Simeon conducted services.

Mrs McKey was a retired registrar of Wilkinson County and a notary public for 
40 years.  She was also a member of the Centreville Baptist Church.

Survivors include three sons, Clark McKey of Pride, LA., Carroll McKey and Allen 
McKey of Houma; two daughters, Mrs Fannie Hodges of Baton Rouge, Mrs Barbara 
Grimmer of Gonzales, LA.;  a sister,  Mrs Lessie Huff of Bobbs, New Mexico;  
12 grandchildren;  19 great grandchildren;  and five great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Clark McKey.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews.

Ludger (Cecile) Ducote, Mrs Jules (Isabel) LeBlanc, Mrs Inez Roussel, Mrs Sylvan

Vincent Charles Lapresto, 76, a retired state employee and resident of 
Terrebonne Parish for 50 years, died 2:30 p.m. Sunday. 

Visitation will be until 11 p.m. today at the Chauvin Funeral Home, resuming 8 
a.m. Tuesday and continuing until funeral time. The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. 
Tuesday in the funeral home chapel, with burial following in Magnolia Cemetery.

Mr. Lapresto served as a Louisiana State Trooper for six years, and was an 
Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) Board member and employee. He was an inspector 
of the Louisiana State Department of Weights and Measures, and served as 
sergeant-at-arms of the Louisiana Senate until his retirement in 1979, nearly 33 
years.

Mr. Lopresto was the founder of the Greater Houma Carnival Club, now known as 
the Krewe of Terreanians. He also organized the Krewe of Flames Carnival Club 
and served as its president for 22 years.

Leonie (Brother-in-Law) Rodrigue, 87, a native of Chackbay and a resident of 
Sorrento, La., died 5:30 a.m. Sunday at Baton Rouge (Annex?). 

Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. today and continue until funeral time at the 
Welsh Funeral Home in Gonzales, La. The funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Holy 
Rosary Catholic Church in St. Amant, La., with burial following in the church 
cemetery. Father Donald Blanchard will conduct services.

Mr. Rodrigue was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Amant, La. and 
the American Legion Gauthreau-Williams 81 in Gonzales, La. He was also a World 
War I Army veteran.

Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Manuel (Naize) Vilintrve?, Mrs. Joseph 
(Gladys) Motichak of Sorrento, La., Mrs. Wayne (Vernia) Landry of Baton Rouge, 
Mrs. Vernon (Irene) Delatte and Mrs. Peter (Deanny) Albrecht of Metairie; a 
sister, Ursule Ockman; 22 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, two great-
great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Helenie Robinson; and his parents, Louise 
Tauzin and Telesphor Rodrigue.

A native of Gibson and a resident of Houma, Mr. Theriot was a World War II Navy 
Veteran.

He was a resident of Terrebonne Parish and a native of Long Island, N.Y. He was 
a dispatcher, clerk and officer manager of B.J. Hughes Inc. of Houma. 

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until 11 p.m. today and 8 a.m. until funeral time 
Monday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled 2 p.m. Monday at 
Annunziata Church, with burial following in at St. Louis Church Cemetery in 
Bayou Blue. 

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Ledet Ziepke; his father, Paul Ziepke of 
California; his mother, Virginia Holzhauer, of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; one sons, 
Scott Paul; two daughters, Melissa Ruth and Melody Ann; one brother, James 
Ziepke of Omaha, Neb.; five sisters, Mrs. William (Sharon) Bentley, Mrs. Richard 
(Julia) Beebee, and Miss Virginia Holshauer, all of Omaha, Neb., Mrs. Rick 
(Carol) Seago of Crownsville, Md., and Miss Sally Holzhauer, of New Smyrna

brothers, one half-sister; one aunt; and two uncles.

He is preceded in death by his step-father, Charles R. Holzhauer, and his

A 19 year old Westwego man was killed Tuesday morning when he was crushed 
between the boat on which he was working and an offshore drilling platform about 
10 miles southwest of Morgan City.

A Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's spokesman said Timothy Bass was pronounced dead on 
arrival at South Louisiana Medical Center Tuesday morning, where he was taken 
after the accident.

A spokesman for Bollinger Offshore Boats of Lockport, for which Bass worked, 
said Bass was leaning over the bulkwark of the 135 feet geophysical boat 
"Benjamin" trying to attach a line to the platform when he was caught between 
the boat and the rig.

Aycock St. died 2:25 p.m. Wednesday at his residence. 

The funeral will be 8:30 p.m. today at Rock of Ages Baptist Church, with the 
Rev. James Lagarde conducting services. Dismissal will be 10 a.m. Saturday from 
the church, with burial following in the Oak Forest Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Elva Saulsberry; two sons, Raymond and Shedrick 
Diggs; two daughters, Mrs. Linda Diggs Durkins and Mrs. Lorraine Diggs Rollins;

MABLE BOUDREAUX

Mrs. Mable Marie Boudreaux, 65, a native of Lafourche Parish and a resident of 
Thibodaux, died midnight, Marcy 28, in Raceland. 

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. today at Thibodaux Funeral Home, 
resuming 8 a.m. Monday, and continuing until funeral time. The funeral will be 
9:30 a.m. from the Funeral Home, with religious services 10 a.m. at St. Bridget 
Catholic Church, Schriever. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Thibodaux.

Survivors include her husband, Louis Boudreaux; three daughters, Mrs. Shirley 
Panbelle, Mrs. Jane Ordoyne and Mrs. Carol Guidry, all of Thibodaux; one sister, 
Mrs. Stella Peltier of Thibodaux; three brothers, Norbert and John Levron of 
Schriever; and Rodney Levron of Chackbay; and seven grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Estell Bergeron Levron; and 
two brothers, Andrew and Ernest Levron.

JULIUS DUCHAN

Julius J. "Dunn" Duchan, 74, a resident of Gibson, died at 10 p.m. Friday at 
Thibodaux General Hospital. 

The wake will be 8 p.m. Monday at the Charbonnet-Labat Funeral Home in New 
Orleans. The funeral will be at 10 p.m. Tuesday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic 
Church in New Orleans. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery in New 
Orleans.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Hazel Smith Duchan; a daughter, Althea Duchan; 
two sisters, Fabeola Duchan and Gertrude Oliver; and two grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jules and Devon Duchan; a daughter, 
Velma Colomb; two sisters, Eola Brand and Althea Mofest; and a brother Ramzy 
Duchan.

DEME GRABERT

Deme J. Grabert, 43, a native of Lockport and a resident of Houma, died 7 p.m. 
Saturday. 

He is preceded in death by his father, Wildon Grabert.

He is survived by his wife Jane Louise Grabert; his mother, Nolie Waguespack 
Grabert of Lockport, his daughter, Jame Mary Grabert; and his son Deme Wildon 
Grabert. He is survived by seven sisters; Mrs. Leola Griffin of Mathews, Mrs. 
Whitney (Lula Mae) Griffin of Vacherrie; Mrs. Albert (Lorella) Estay of 
Kentwood; and Mrs. Leon (Louella) Boudreaux of Raceland.

Funeral services are scheduled 1 p.m. Monday at Falgout-McCleary Funeral Home 
Chapel. Services will be conducted by the Jehova Witnesses. Burial is scheduled 
to follow services at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Gray. Visitation began at 2 
p.m. until 10 p.m. today and at 8 a.m. until funeral time Monday at Falgout-
McCleary Funeral Home.

Joseph Hilton Grabert died 7:18 Friday. He was 78. 

He is survived by his wife, Mary Moore; his sons, Earl of Picayune, Miss., and 
Allen of Gretna; his daughter, Mrs. Lucille Anita Marcell; his brothers, Ridley 
Grabert of Avondale, Wildley, Harris and Clifford; his sisters, Mrs. Pat 
(Connie) Pertuit, Mrs. Richard (Clarice) Foret, and Mrs. Michel (Dora) Ackley; 
11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are scheduled 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Francis de Sales Catholic 
Church with burial following at Magnolia Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled 10 
a.m. Monday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Chauvin Funeral Home is handling 
arrangements.

ARTHUR OLIVIER

Arthur Revenel Olivier, a native and resident of Houma, died 8 p.m. Friday at 
the age of 58. 

He was a veteran of World War II and received the Distinguished Flying Cross and 
a Staff Sergeant Air Medal after flying 32 missions. He was a member of Veterans 
of Foreign Wars and was employed at Haliburton for 33 years.

He is survived by his wife Norma (Bunny) Olivier; his four sons, Don Revenel, 
Ronnie, Randy, and Johnny; his two daughters, Bonnie Luke Olivier and Vivian 
Babin; and his 11 grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Berwick John and Laura Helena Patterson 
Olivier.

Services will be held 10 a.m. Monday in Falgout-McCleary Funeral Home Chapel 
with interment in St. Francis No. 2 Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled 2 p.m. to 
10 p.m. today and 8 a.m. to funeral time Monday at Falgout-McCleary Funeral 
Home.

Mabel Breaux Rodrigue, 60, sister of Lafourche Parish Sheriff Duffy Breaux, died 
1 a.m. Saturday in Houma. Mrs. Rodrigue was a native and (continued on page 20) 
resident of Larose. She was employed for 18 years as a nurse's aide at Our Lady 
of the Sea Hospital in Galliano. 

The wake will begin at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at the V.F.W. Community Center in 
Larose. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in 
Larose. Burial will follow in Holy Rosary Cemetery.

Survivors include a son, Eddie Rodrigue Jr.; two daughters, Mrs. Glen Verret and 
Mrs. Walter Fonseca; five brothers, Alvin, Clarence, Lester, Numa and Duffy 
Breaux; seven sisters, Mrs. Jack Edwards, Mrs. Teddy Chiasson Mrs. Edward Duet, 
Mrs. Nootsie Vizier, Mrs. Tillman Rousse, Mrs. Bobby Taylor and Mrs. Clyde 
Yarbrough; and nine grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Rodrigue Sr. and a sister, Mrs. 
Emelda Gilbeaux.

Raceland. Entombment was in St. Mary Mausoleum.

Laurel, Miss., four sisters, Mrs. Nell Quave of Bogalusa, La., Mrs. Joe Casey 
Jr. and Mrs. Roy E. Dedeaux of Gulfport, Miss., Mrs. John Casey of Long Beach, 
Miss.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John C. Moody and Allie Carnes Moody;
