JOHN GRAVOIS Dr. John Andre Gravois, 78, a retired medical doctor, died 12:25 today at Golden Meadow. A native of Vacherie and a resident of Golden Meadow, Dr. Gravois practiced in Golden Meadow for 50 years and retired from his profession only two years ago. The owner of The Golden Meadow Pharmacy, he practiced from his medical clinic located at the back of the drug store, where he delivered babies and performed minor surgeries. Dr. Gravois was a graduate of Tulane University with a degree in medicine, and from Loyola University with a degree in pharmacy. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Rotary Club, the American Medical Association, the Lafourche Medical Society and several other medical societies. He also enjoyed fishing. Daigle Baton Rouge Woman Dies in Car Crash TERRI CRAWFORD A 21 year old Baton Rouge woman was killed Saturday morning in a one car accident in Assumption Parish, Troop C. of state police reported. State police said that Terri E. Crawford was northbound on Louisiana 69 at about 10 a.m. when she failed to negotiate a left turn and overturned to the right. ============================ Houma Courier; April 6, 1980 Sunday Submitted by Cynthia F. Daigle EASTON DUPLANTIS Easton Celestin Duplantis, 70, a local businessman who was also a former member of the Terrebonne Parish Police Jury and Houma Board of Aldermen, died at 7:15 a.m. Saturday. Visitation began Saturday at Chauvin Funeral Home, resuming 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. today and again at 8 a.m. Monday, continuing until funeral time. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with burial following in the church cemetery. He served eight years on the Police Jury, from 1951 to 1959. While serving on the Police Jury, Mr. Duplantis was chairman of the Grounds Committee. Mr. Duplantis also served as city alderman for Ward 3 for one four year term from 1962 to 1966. He also served as vice president of Waterworks District No. 1 Board of Commissioners in 1967 and was and was a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Duplantis was the owner of Duplantis Service Station and Grocery for more than 40 years and had been retired for the last 12 years. He was also a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society. In the 1960's he also served as an adviser to the First National Bank of Houma. "He was a great hunter and an avid fisherman", Mrs. Louise Belanger of Route 3 Box 70 in Houma said. "He really loved this area and the people here". Mrs. Reves became a member of the Methodist church at an early age and was active in church services. She was a member of the Methodist choir and served as solo vocalist at her church. She traveled extensively with her husband, as his work required a great deal of travel, and came to Houma in the late 1930's. Mrs. Reves entered the teaching profession, and continued her education training at Louisiana State University and the University of Southwestern Louisiana, where she received a degree in education. She and her students received several awards in art and creative activities during her teaching career. Oil painting became her hobby following her retirement. Mrs. Reves was a member of the Louisiana State and the Terrebonne Parish Retired Teachers Association, and a lifelong member of the national organization. Survivors include two sons, Charles W.
