Bridget Ledet Bourgeois, 92, died 12:30 a.m. today. Visitation

Thibodaux, resuming 8 a.m. Thursday and continuing until funeral 
time. The funeral will be 12:30 p.m. Thursday from the funeral 
home, with religious services following, 1 p.m., at St. Charles 
Borromeo Catholic Church. Burial will be St. Joseph Cemetery in 
Thibodaux.

Survivors include four sons, J.P., Francis P., Emile J. Jr. and 
Godfrey Bourgeois; three daughters, Mrs. Thomas Scott, Emiline 
Bourgeois and Mrs. Cora Lee Smith; 15 grandchildren and 13 
great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Emile Bourgeois; a son, 
Guy Bourgeois; and two daughters, Edine Bourgeois Bourg and Mae

DR. JOHN GRAVOIS

Dr. John Andre Gravois, 78, a retired medical doctor, died 12:25 
today at Golden Meadow. Religious services will be 10:30 a.m. 
Thursday at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Golden 
Meadow, with entombment following in the church mausoleum. 

A native of Vacherie and a resident of Golden Meadow, Dr. 
Gravois practiced in Golden Meadow for 50 years and retired from 
his profession only two years ago. The owner of The Golden 
Meadow Pharmacy, he practiced from his medical clinic located at 
the back of the drug store, where he delivered babies and 
performed minor surgeries.

Dr. Gravois was a graduate of Tulane University with a degree in 
medicine, and from Loyola University with a degree in pharmacy. 
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Rotary Club, the 
American Medical Association, the Lafourche Medical Society and 
several other medical societies. He also enjoyed fishing.

Survivors include a son, John Andre Gravois Jr.; two brothers, 
John Albert and Daniel Albert Gravois; four sisters, Leota G. 
Champagne, Beatrice G. Arceneaux, Enola G. Hayes and Alice G. 
Marionneaux; four grandchildren and one great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Neva St. Martin Gravois; 
his parents, John A. Gravois and Mary Anna Becnel Gravois; three 
brothers, George I., Leo and Armand Gravois; and a sister, 
Josephine Arceneaux. Falgout Funeral Home, Inc., is handling

When he was first married, Mr. Eschete worked as a fur trapper 
and then went on to work for the State of Louisiana removing 
hyacinths from the bayous. He became a retailer with the Eschete 
family seafood business, Eschete's Seafood Market, and was also 
a retired fireman from the central fire station. Mr. Eschete 
also assisted with maintenance at the Knights of Columbus Home. 
He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the American 
Legion. His hobbies included reading and some television, 
especially baseball games.

Survivors include his wife, Noemie Babin Eschete; two sons, 
Charles Eschete of Thibodaux, Byron Eschete of New Orleans; a 
daughter, Mrs. Robert (Lois) Hill; two brothers, Junius and Earl

Baton Rouge Woman Dies in Car Crash
TERRI CRAWFORD

A 21 year old Baton Rouge woman was killed Saturday morning in a 
one car accident in Assumption Parish, Troop C. of state police 
reported.  State police said that Terri E. Crawford was 
northbound on Louisiana 69 at about 10 a.m. when she failed to 
negotiate a left turn and overturned to the right.

EASTON DUPLANTIS

Easton Celestin Duplantis, 70, a local businessman who was also 
a former member of the Terrebonne Parish Police Jury and Houma 
Board of Aldermen, died at 7:15 a.m. Saturday. Visitation began 
Saturday at Chauvin Funeral Home, resuming 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. 
today and again at 8 a.m. Monday, continuing until funeral time. 
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Rosary Catholic 
Church, with burial following in the church cemetery.

He served eight years on the Police Jury, from 1951 to 1959. 
While serving on the Police Jury, Mr. Duplantis was chairman of 
the Grounds Committee. Mr. Duplantis also served as city 
alderman for Ward 3 for one four year term from 1962 to 1966. 

He also served as vice president of Waterworks District No. 1 
Board of Commissioners in 1967 and was and was a fourth degree 
member of the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Duplantis was the owner 
of Duplantis Service Station and Grocery for more than 40 years 
and had been retired for the last 12 years. 

He was also a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and the 
Holy Name Society. In the 1960's he also served as an adviser to 
the First National Bank of Houma. "He was a great hunter and an 
avid fisherman", Mrs. Louise Belanger of Route 3 Box 70 in Houma 
said. "He really loved this area and the people here". 

Survivors include his wife, Marie DuBois Duplantis; two sons, 
Pat Duplantis of Houma and J.C. Duplantis of Victoria, Texas; 
three daughters, Mrs. Bert (Norma) Rhodes and Mrs. Milton 
"Tutte" (Betty) White, both of Houma, and Mrs. Bob (Jo) Howell 
of Houston, Texas; three brothers, Elwin, Yot and Roy Duplantis, 
all of Houma; four sisters, Mrs. Bill (Kate) Newson, Mrs. Nick 
(Norma) Bournais and Mrs. Louis (Iola) "Sis" Belanger, all of 
Houma and Mrs. Bernard (Maybell) Wiltz of Lafayette, La.; 13 
grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Edna Hebert and John 
Hebert; and two brothers, Hubert and Tom Duplantis. Chauvin

Mrs. WILLIE MAE REVES

Mrs. Willie Mae (Billie) Baldwin Reves, 75, a retired school 
teacher, died 1 p.m. Tuesday. Visitation will be until 8 p.m. 
today at Chauvin Funeral Home, resuming 8 am Thursday and 
continuing until funeral time. The funeral will be 10 am 
Thursday at the funeral home chapel, with Rev. John Winn, co-
pastor of the First United Methodist church, conducting 
services. Burial will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery.

A native of Calera, Ok. And a resident of 212 Morgan St., Mrs. 
Reves received her early education from a tutor and in Oklahoma 
elementary schools, under the guidance of her father who was a 
director in the field of education. She is a graduate of 
Southeastern College in Durant, Ok. And studied extension 
courses from the University of Oklahoma. During her college 
years, she was active in art and drama clubs. 

Mrs. Reves became a member of the Methodist church at an early 
age and was active in church services. She was a member of the 
Methodist choir and served as solo vocalist at her church. 

She traveled extensively with her husband, as his work required 
a great deal of travel, and came to Houma in the late 1930's. 
Mrs. Reves entered the teaching profession, and continued her 
education training at Louisiana State University and the 
University of Southwestern Louisiana, where she received a 
degree in education. 

She and her students received several awards in art and creative 
activities during her teaching career.  Oil painting became her 
hobby following her retirement.

Mrs. Reves was a member of the Louisiana State and the 
Terrebonne Parish Retired Teachers Association, and a lifelong 
member of the national organization.

Survivors include two sons, Charles W. Reves of Houma and Billy 
C. Reves of Orange, Texas; a sister, Mrs. Rowena Goza of Dallas, 
Texas; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles O. Reves; her 
parents, Dr. and Mrs. John H. Baldwin; and a brother, Joseph G. 
Baldwin, a retired mayor of Calera, Ok.

Mr. Gautreaux was a member of the Diamond Club of Greater New

World War II veteran and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of

Philip Guy Richard, 85, a native and resident of Thibodaux, died 
11 p.m. Saturday at Houma. Visitation will be from 4 to 10 p.m.

and continuing until funeral time. The funeral will be 11 am 
Tuesday from the funeral home with religious services following 
at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral, Thibodaux. Burial will be in St.

Mr. Richard was a member of the VFW Ferdinand Lefort American 
Legion Post 11, the Lafourche Knights of Columbus Council 1114 
and the Young Men's Business Association. 

Survivors include his wife, Mathilde Toups Richard; a son, 
Francis P. Richard of Gretna; two daughters, Mrs. Henry 
(Mercedes) Ellender of Houma, Mrs. Herbert (Lois Ann) Sumrall of 
Baton Rouge; a brother, Elmo Richard of Lafayette; 11 
grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Hattie Peltier
