today at Galliano.

Lockport. The funeral will be 9:15 a.m. Saturday from the funeral home, with 
religious services following 9:30 a.m. at Holy Savior Catholic Church in 
Lockport. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, Bobby Cupp; her parents, Abraham Parfait and Mrs. 
Maria Violet Parfait; a son, Bobby Cupp Jr.; a daughter, Robin Nicole Cupp; five 
brothers, Abraham, Michael, Tony, Peter and Easton Parfait; four sisters, Mrs. 
Freddie Verdin, Mrs. Norman Naccio, Mrs. Morris Soudelier and Mrs. Ernest 
Plaisance; and a grandmother, Mrs. Frank (Lucy) Foret, age 107.

MARY NAQUIN

Sister Mary Rita Naquin, 94, her given name being Anna Emilie Naquin, died 
Friday afternoon at Mother House in Metairie. 

The funeral was held 11 a.m. today at St. Philomena Catholic Church in 
Labadieville, with Father Henry Naquin, her nephew, conducting services. Burial 
will be in the church cemetery. 

A native of Labadieville and a resident of New Orleans and Metairie for 34 
years, Sister Rita entered the order of the Sisters of the Immaculate Conception 
in 1905, when she was 19. She later obtained her Bachelor's degree at Loyola 
University in New Orleans, and taught in New Orleans for five years before she 
was missioned to Holy Savior in Lockport. At Holy Savior, Sister Rita helped to 
transform the private schools of the Sisters of the Immaculate Conception into 
parochial schools. She returned to New Orleans in 1933 and organized the 
Immaculate Conception High School for girls. 

Survivors include nieces and nephews. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lournci Naquin and Marie Lasseigne; 
three brothers, Walter, E.E. (Mac) and Cecile Naquin; and three sisters, Mrs. 
Laurencia Naquin, Mrs. Eugene Euphemie Naquin and Mrs. Paul (Agnes) Lasseigne.

Houma native Clarence Moses, 51, died 2:30 p.m. Sunday at South Louisiana 
Medical Center. 

The wake will be 8 p.m. Friday at Mount Calvary Baptist Church. The funeral is 
set for 2 p.m. Saturday at the church, with burial following in Bisland 
Cemetery. 

Survivors include his wife, Mercedes B. Moses; his mother, Lovethel Moses; four 
sons, Clarence Jr., Harold, Eric and Travis Moses; four daughters, Joan Thomas 
of South Boston, Va., Joyce Moses Lawson of Houston, Texas, Barbara Bonvillain 
and Trenace Moses; a brother, Edward Moses III; four sisters, Bertha Jones and 
Claudia Watson of Chicago, Ill, Rose Mary White of Baton Rouge, Bernadine 
Thomas; seven grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Marie Oubre Rodrigue, 69, a native and resident of Vacherie, died 1:40 p.m. 
Wednesday. 

Visitation will be until 10 p.m. today at Our Lady of Peace Church Hall in 
Vacherie, resuming 8 a.m. Friday and continuing until funeral time. The funeral 
will be 9:45 a.m. Friday from the church hall with religious services following 
10 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. Burial will be in the church 
cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, Malkior Rodrigue; four sons, Chester, Mack, James 
and Manuel Rodrigue; two daughters, Mrs. Judy Ordoyne and Mrs. Virgie Loup; a 
brother, Willis Oubre; two sisters, Mrs. Marie Lassere and Mrs. Odile Falgoust; 
22 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by a son, Merlin Rodrigue; a brother, Pierre Oubre; and

CLEVELAND VEDROS

Cleveland J. Vedros, 62, a native of Lockport and a resident of Marrero for 26 
years, died 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. 

The funeral was held 11 a.m. today from Mothe Funeral Home, Inc., Harvey, with a 
Mass of Christian burial following at the Visitation of Our Lady Catholic 
Church. Burial was in Westlawn Memorial Park.

Survivors include four sons, James, Jesse, Billy and Roy Vedros; a daughter, 
Jackie Vedros; five brothers, Clifton, Nilton, Richard, Percy and Robby Vedros; 
six sisters, Mrs. Lillian Griffin, Mrs. Edna Mae Adams, Mrs. Ernest Bailleaux, 
Mrs. Evelyna Thibodeaux, Mrs. Winnie Folse, Mrs. Molly Savoie; and seven 
grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude Chiasson; his parents, Edna Marie 
Guidry and Dave A. Vedros; and three brothers, Wildred, Enos and Freddie Vedros.

funeral home chapel, with burial following in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2. 
A Rosary is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

daughters, Mrs. Enola Kennair and Mrs. Morris (Isabelle) Hill of New Orleans,
