Wallace Joseph Benoit, 77 years, a native of Chackbay and resident of Raceland, 
died 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Raceland. Visitation will begin 5 p.m. today from 
Falgout Funeral Home, Raceland and continue until 11 p.m., resuming 7 a.m. 
Friday from the funeral home with religious services to follow 9:30 a.m. at St. 
Hilary Catholic Church, Mathews. Burial is in Holy Savior Cemetery, Lockport.

Survivors include his wife, Florence Matherne Benoit; three sons, Eldon, Curles 
and Gary Benoit; one brother, Gaston Benoit; two sisters, Mrs. Leonce (Hilda) 
Parks and Mrs. Charles (Yvonne) Plaisance; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Eugene Benoit; and one sister, Mrs. 
Everette (Bridget) Giroir Sr. Falgout Funeral Home of Raceland is in charge of 
arrangements.

ROBERT ESCHETE

Robert Anthony Eschete, 68 years, a native and resident of Houma, died at 12:30 
p.m. Wednesday. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus of the St. 
Gregory Knights of Columbus of St. Gregory. Visitation began this morning at 
Chauvin Funeral Home and will continue until funeral time 
today. The funeral is 2 p.m. today at St. Gregory Catholic Church.
Burial is in Terrebonne Memorial Park Cemetery. 

Survivors include his wife, Viola Trahan Eschete; one son, Ronald Eschete of 
Thibodaux; four sisters, Mrs. Anthony (Cora) Boudreaux, Mrs. Edward (Irene) 
Boudreaux, both of Gretna, Miss Rosa Eschete and Mrs. Wilbert (Una Ruth) 
Bonvillain of Houma and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elise Bergeron and Joseph Eschete; one 
brother, Abbie and Paul Eschete; and two sisters, Mrs. Nora Pellegrin and Mrs.

Home, Raceland, for Mabry Joseph Detillier, 66, a native and resident of 
Mathews, who died at 12:45 p.m. Thursday. Religious services were scheduled for 
10 a.m. at St. Hillary Catholic Church, with interment in Holy Savior Cemetery, 
Lockport. Visitation will be from 3-11 p.m. Friday and from 7 a.m. Saturday 
until funeral time.

He was the husband of Elma Marie Sampey Detillier; brother of Moise Sr., 
Carlton, Cliff, Firman Jr. and Webster Detillier, Mrs. Irene Molaison, Mrs. 
Elizabeth Landry, Mrs. Floria LeCompte, and the late Elfie St. Pierre, Alley 
Knight and Eloise Detillier; son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Firman Detillier Sr.

Raceland, for Louis "Tex" Fetta, 76, who died in Thibodaux. Religious services 
followed at St. Mary Catholic Church, Raceland, with interment in the church 
cemetery.

A native of Oklahoma and resident of Thibodaux, he was the husband of the late 
Audrey Fetta.

Walter James May Sr., 74, the retired owner of Exploration Supply of Houma 
Inc., died 2 a.m. Saturday at Lafayette General Hospital. The funeral will be 
9:30 a.m., Monday, from the funeral home with religious services following at 
Maria Immacolata Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Francis de Sales 
Cemetery No. 2.

Survivors include his wife, Rinda Posecai May; one son, Darrell May of Houma; 
one daughter, Mrs. Daniel (Jo Ann) Griffin of Houma; one brother, Otis May of 
Norton, Kansas; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Calvin Joseph Ozio, 77, a resident of Morgan City and a native of Thibodaux, 
died at his residence Saturday at 6:30 a.m. Visitation will be held today from 
4 p.m. until 10 p.m. at the Twin City Funeral Home in Morgan City. Visitation 
will resume at 8 a.m. until funeral time Monday. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. 
Monday at the Twin City Funeral Home Chapel with burial to 
be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux.

Survivors include his wife, Ella Duplantis Ozio of Morgan City; one daughter, 
Mrs. Maxine O. Galler and two grandchildren, Mike Galler III and Lisa Galler,

Lloyd Paul Blanchard, 65, a native of Terrebonne Parish and a resident of Bayou 
Blue, died 11 p.m. Friday. He was a retired farmer. Visitation began Saturday 
at Falgout Funeral Home of Houma Inc. and will continue until funeral time. The 
funeral will be 3 p.m. today at Bayou Blue United Methodist Church. Burial will 
be in Rogers Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Vesta Matherne Blanchard of Bayou Blue; two sons, 
Kenneth Blanchard of Bayou Blue and Fulton Blanchard of Houma; two brothers, 
Farmand and Daniel Blanchard; five sisters, Mrs. John Daigle, Mrs. Louise

Religious services were scheduled for Tuesday for Cecile Gaudet Dufrene, 76, a 
a native and resident of Raceland who died today at 2:20 a.m. in Raceland.

She was the wife of the late Lynn Dufrene Sr.; mother of Lynn Dufrene Jr., Leon 
Lois Dufrene, Mrs. Leona Robichaux; and sister of Jules, Eddie and Firman 
Gaudet, Mrs. Rita Bourgeois, Mrs. Victor Matherne, Mrs. Emile Foret and the 
late Mrs. Jean Foret. She is survived by 7 grandchildren and 3 great-
grandchildren.

Funeral services will be from Falgout Funeral Home in Raceland Tuesday at 9:30 
a.m. followed by religious services in St. Hilary Catholic Church in Mathews at 
10 a.m. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery in Raceland. Visitation will be 
in the funeral home today from 4-11 p.m. and Tuesday from 7 a.m. until funeral 
time.

Religious services were Monday for Melba Vickers Bourgeois, 65, a native of 
Wisner and a resident of Houma who died Friday at 3:05 p.m. 

She was the wife of Warren H. Bourgeois Sr.; mother of Lt. Col. Warren H. 
Bourgeois Jr. of Tampa, Fla., and David Bourgeois of Houma; daughter of the 
late Janie Jones and Samuel A. Vickers; sister of Mrs. B.C. (Janie) Hebert of 
Thibodaux and Landry Vickers of Orange, Texas and the late Mrs. William A. 
(Edna) Burns, Mrs. Ruth Braswell, Wiley, Andrew, Wardell, Dwight, Ripley and 
Allen Vickers. 

She is survived by three grandsons, Dave, Lyle and Corey Bourgeois. Religious 
services were in St. Gregory Catholic Church in Houma Monday followed by 
interment in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery.

Rosalie Guillot and Justilien Bourgeois; sister of Mrs. Marceline Thibodeaux,

WESLEY RODRIGUE

A man found dead in a pirogue Thursday morning on Lake Barre has been 
identified by the Terrebonne Parish Sherriff's Office as a 65 year old Montegut 
man. According to a Sheriff's Office spokesman, the man was identified as 
Wesley Rodrigue, of Route 1 Box 58 B in Montegut. Roland Adams, an investigator 
with the Terrebonne Parish Coroner's Office, said Rodrigue died of natural 
causes.

Wesley Joseph Rodrigue was a native and resident of Point-aux-Chenes and was a 
retired derrickman for Texaco. The funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday from St. 
Charles Church. Burial is in the church cemetery.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Bridget Dupre Rodrigue; eight daughters, 
Mrs. Kenneth (Geraldine) Ellender, Mrs. Gerald (Elaine) Naquin, Mrs. Wayne 
(Mae) Dupre, Mrs. Ronald (Stella) Babin, Mrs. Donald (Dorothy) Pitre, all of 
Pointe-aux-Chenes, Mrs. Michael (Marlene) Domangue of Chauvin, Mrs. Herman

He was a retired fisherman.

of Chauvin; one daughter, Mrs. Steven (Jeanette) Stringer of Houma; 21

Shahannah Lynn Ford, 20, of 106 Plum Street was struck and killed by an 18

She will be remembered by some as the long time legal secretary of a former 
District Attorney of the 17th Judicial District, then comprising of the parishes 
of Lafourche and Terrebonne, the late Hon. J. A. O. Coignet. In 1920, shortly 
after the ratification of the 19th amendment, she received a Natorial Commission 
from the Governor John M. Parker and had the distinction of being one of the 
first Woman Notary Public in the State of Louisiana. 

Mrs. McCall was later identified as a member of the staff of the late Sen. 
Allen J. Ellender in Washington D.C. where she resided for many years until her 
retirement in 1956. 

The funeral will be 9 a.m. Thursday with a Mass of Christian burial in the 
chapel of Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home, Inc., located on Canal Street, New

(Jean) Bretz of Milford, Mass., Mrs. Allen V. (Sue) Moore of New Orleans and 
Mrs. W.E. (Helen) Forbes, of St. Charles, Missouri; five sisters, Mrs. NJ. 
(Athalie) Oubre, Mrs. Sydney Sheffield, Mrs. Dudley (Inez) Patterson of Houma 
and Anna and Florence LeCompte of Bourg; and nine grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by one son, Richard George; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. 
Joseph G. LeCompte; one sister, Emma LeCompte; and one brother, Bailey J. 
LeCompte. Jacob Schoen Funeral Home of New Orleans is handling arrangements.

ALICE PINELL

Alice DuBois Pinell, died Tuesday at 5:45 a.m. Visitation will begin 6:30 p.m. 
Thursday from Tharp-Sonthiemer-Tharp Funeral Home, located at 1600 N. Causeway 
Blvd. in Metairie. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday in the Metairie Chapel 
with a Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in St. Louis Church Cemetery 
No. 3.

Survivors include three sons, Joseph Pinell of Los Angelas, Calif., Alvin and 
Huey Pinell of New Orleans; one daughter, Mrs. Mary Constanza of New Orleans; 
15 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph A. Pinell; her parents, 
Marguerite Blanchard and Joseph Dubois; and one son, Gillis Pinell. Tharp-
Sonthiemer-Tharp Funeral Home, Metairie, is handling arrangements.

LEROY RICHARD

Leroy Eugene Richard, 52 years, died 5:18 p.m. Tuesday. He was an employee of 
Cameco. Visitation will begin 4 p.m. today from Landry Funeral Home in 
Labadieville and remain until 11 p.m., resuming 7 a.m. Thursday till funeral 
time. The funeral will be 10 a.m. from the funeral home with religious services 
to follow at St. Philomena Catholic Church. Burial is in the church cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Thelma Alleman Richard; his mother, Esma Aysenne 
Richard; one son, Lenny Richard of Labadieville; three daughters, Darlene 
Prince, Mrs. Lindon (Marcia) Naquin Jr. and Lisa Richard; three brothers, 
Junius and Eugene Richard of Labadieville and Gabe Richard of Thibodaux; one 
sister, Mrs. Lowell (Mary) Hebert Sr. of Donaldsonville; and four 
grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his father, Theodule Richard; and two brothers, 
Roland and Rudolph (Butsy) Richard.

TIMOTHY THERIOT

Timothy James Theriot, 22 years and a resident of Larose, died 5 a.m. Friday in 
Valentine. The funeral was 9 a.m. this morning from the V.F.W. Community Center 
in Larose, with religious services following at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. 
Burial is in the church cemetery.

Survivors include his parents, Donald J. and Juanita Lirette Theriot; eight 
brothers, Michael, Donald Jr., Thomas, Steve, John, Jody, Jerome and Scott 
Theriot; one sister, Miss Ann Theriot; and his grandparents, Mrs. Julie Therot 
and Sairden Lirette. 

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Albert Theriot and Rebecca 
Lirette.
