Daigle WESLEY RODRIGUE A man found dead in a pirogue Thursday morning on Lake Barre has been identified by the Terrebonne Parish Sherriff's Office as a 65 year old Montegut man. According to a Sheriff's Office spokesman, the man was identified as Wesley Rodrigue, of Route 1 Box 58 B in Montegut. Roland Adams, an investigator with the Terrebonne Parish Coroner's Office, said Rodrigue died of natural causes. Wesley Joseph Rodrigue was a native and resident of Point-aux-Chenes and was a retired derrickman for Texaco. The funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday from St. Charles Church. Daigle IDA MCCALL Mrs. Ida Briggs McCall, 93 years, a resident of New Orleans and a native of Thibodaux, died Tuesday. Born June 7, 1888 in Thibodaux, she was the daughter of the late Henry J. Briggs and Virgina Grima. She is also preceded in death by two sister, Mrs. Adrian (Effie) J. Caillouet and Mrs. H.C. (Nellie) Berger; and two brothers, Henry J. Briggs and Thomas J. Briggs. She will be remembered by some as the long time legal secretary of a former District Attorney of the 17th Judicial District, then comprising of the parishes of Lafourche and Terrebonne, the late Hon. J. A. O. Coignet. In 1920, shortly after the ratification of the 19th amendment, she received a Natorial Commission from the Governor John M. Parker and had the distinction of being one of the first Woman Notary Public in the State of Louisiana. Mrs. McCall was later identified as a member of the staff of the late Sen. Allen J. Ellender in Washington D.C. where she resided for many years until her retirement in 1956.
