OPHELIA BOURG BABIN

Ophelia Bourg Babin, 78, a native of Little Caillou and a resident of Houma, 
died at noon Friday.

Visitation will be at Chauvin Funeral Home from 9 a.m. until funeral time 
Monday. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Holy Rosary Catholic 
Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

She is survived by three sons, Terry and Joseph Babin, both of Houma, and 
Charles Babin of Tigard, Ore.; four daughters, Mrs. L. J. (Barbara) 
Prestenback, Mrs. Ray (Betty) Becnel, Mrs. Floyd (Shirley) Picou and Mrs. 
Collin (Ruth) Detiveaux, all of Houma; one brother, Gilbert Bourg of Schriever; 
one sister, Mrs. Ambrose (Pearl) Falgout of New Orleans; 31 grandchildren; and 
33 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Berwick Babin; her parents, Emma 
Bergeron and Lawrence Bourg; and two sisters, Mrs. Walter (Rose Mae) Boudreaux 
and Emma Bourg.

Chauvin Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
