Edmond "Paw" Filce, Sr., 72, a native and resident of Thibodeaux, died at 6:30 a.m. Thursday [4 November 1984]. Visitation will be from 4:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. today and Saturday from 8 a.m. until funeral time. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John Catholic Church in Thibodeaux. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodeaux. He is survived by his wife, Julia Leonard Filce; two sons, Edmond Filce, Jr. and Dale Filce; four daughters, Mrs Joe (Patricia)Withers, Carolyn Filce, Mrs. Ray (Kay) Coltrin and Fay Filce, and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alcide and Coura Houck Filce; and one son, Calvin Filce. Landry Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. ============================================================================== Submitted by: Nancy Wright Houma Courier: Nov. 25, 1984 Merlin Crochet Merlin Paul (Cro) Crochet, 57, a native and resident of Montegut, died at 10:15 a.m. Saturday in Houma. Crochet, a U. S. Army veteran and founder of Cro Equipment in 1970 , worked for Texaco and in the tugboat industry. He retired from Cro Equipment in 1979. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. Sunday at the Chauvin Funeral Home chapel and from 8 a.m. Monday until funeral time. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.Burial will follow in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, one son, four daughters, one brother, and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Crochet and Lottie LeBeouf.
