Sylvester "Rock-Black" Ayo, 79, a native of Labadieville and a resident of 
Thibodaux, died at 10:30 am Friday. Visitation will be from 8 am until 
funeral time Monday. The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Monday at St. Philomena 
Catholic Church, Labadieville. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Beatrice Quatrevingt.

Mrs. Lucien Ayo; two brothers, Raymond and Abdon Ayo; four sisters, 
Annette Nahas, Bernadette Ayo, Juliette Eskine and Anna Himel.

Neola Eloise King Barrios, 67, a native of Gulfport, Miss, and a resident 
of Lockport, died on Friday. Funeral services were held at 7:30 p.m. 
Saturday at the funeral home chapel. Burial services will be held on 
Monday at 1 p.m. at Southern Memorial Park Cemetery, Gulfport, Miss.

She is survived by one stepson, Gregory Barrios; one daughter, Carolyn 
Warr; one stepdaughter, Linda Susan Barrios; one sister, Cleo Barber; and 
three grandchildren.

MAURICE BENOIT

Maurice Charles Benoit, 75, the co-founder and president of Benoit Machine 
Inc. and an innovator in oilfield machinery, died at 9:55 am Saturday. 
Benoit, a native and resident of Houma, was a member of the Board of 
Directors of First National Bank and active in many local business and 
charitable organizations. He was a graduate of Terrebonne High School and 
the Soule Business College of New Orleans.

Benoit was a pioneer in the oilfield machine industry and had patents and 
inventions relating to the business. He was a member of the rotary Club 
and Houma-Terrebonne Chamber of Commerce. He donated to the Boy Scouts of 
America and the Terrebonne Association of Retarded Citizens. 

Visitation will be Sunday from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m. and Monday from 8 am 
until funeral time at the funeral home. The funeral will be at 11 am 
Monday at the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in St. Francis de 
Sales Cemetery #2. 

He is survived by his wife, Arabella Marcelle Benoit; one son, Maurice G. 
Benoit of Houma; one daughter, Mrs. John (Kathy) Gazzo of Covington; four 
brothers, Lucious, Olen, Eddie and Nuel Benoit, all of Houma; two sisters, 
Mrs. Eunice B. Martin of Houma and Dolive Benoit of Lake Charles; 13 
grandchildren; and one Grand Caillou.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Adam Benoit; and one 
son, Myron C. Benoit.

Raceland; 49 grandchildren; and 68 great-grandchildren.

Hester.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Antoine Trahan; her second 
husband, Willis J. Henry; her parents Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Naquin; one son,

PATRICK V. CURRAN

Patrick V. Curran C.S.Sp., 57, a native of Dungarran, England and a 
resident of Chauvin, died at 1:40 am today. He was an ordained priest in 
the Congregation of the Holy Ghost Fathers on July 3, 1955. He was 
assigned to Holy Ghost Missions in Sierra Leone, West Africa from 1956 to 
1974. Curran was assigned to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chauvin where 
he served as associate pastor from January 1975 until his death. 

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 11 p.m. Sunday at St. Joseph Catholic 
Church, Chauvin. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He is survived by two brothers, Michael and Thomas Curran of Ireland; one 
sister, Margaret "Peggy" Curran of Liverpool, England.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Patrick O'Brien and 
one sister, Mamie Robertson. In lieu of flowers, Father Curran would like 
that donations be made to the holy Ghost Missions in Sierra Leone, West 
Africa.

Morris Blanchard, 76, a native and resident of Bayou Black, died at 7:45 
p.m. Friday. He was a retired Texaco employee, a member of the Bayou Black 
Volunteer Fire Department and a member of St. Anthony's Usher Society.

ARMOND CUNNINGHAM

Armond Justin Cunningham, 81, a native of Chauvin and a resident of Houma, died 
3:50 am today. Cunningham was a World War I Veteran. Visitation will be from 5 
p.m. until 10 p.m. today and from 8 am until funeral time at the funeral home. 
The funeral will be at 10 am Saturday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Houma. 
Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Amy LeCompte; seven sons, Julius, Armond Jr. 
"Sonny", Roy E., Philip, Kenneth and Clay Cunningham, all of Houma, Tony 
Cunningham of Zachary; three daughters, Mrs. Junius (Grace) Robichaux, Mrs. 
Sidney (Linda) Duplantis Jr., both of Houma, Mrs. Gerald (Janell) Boudreaux of 
Zachary; one brother, Nolan Cunningham of Houma; 40 grandchildren and 11 great-
grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Cunningham; one son, 
Louis Cunningham; one daughter, Mrs. Allie (Barbara) Lovell II; two brothers, 
Morris and Martin Cunningham; two sisters, Julianne Acosta and Saadi Cunningham 
and one grandson, Allie Lovell III.

Valerie Lorrane Jambon, 69, a native and resident of Cut Off, died at 8:30 p.m.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Alcide Jambon Jr.; her father, Frank

STEPHEN FANGUY

Stephen J.B. Fanguy, 77, a native of Chauvin and a resident of Houma, died at 
2:30 p.m. Saturday. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m. Sunday and from 
8 am until funeral time Monday at the funeral home. The funeral will be at 10:15 
am Monday at Falgout Funeral Home chapel in Houma and will be followed by 
Religious services were scheduled for at St. Gregory Catholic Church. Burial 
will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Chauvin. 

Fanguy was a grocery store owner in Houma for 38 years. 

He is survived by his wife, Adeline Hebert Fanguy; four sons, Stephen William 
Fanguy, Philip Fanguy, Warren Thomas Fanguy and Richard J. Fanguy; one daughter, 
Mrs. Mary Fanguy Jewell; 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Gerard and Alice Pellegrin Fanguy; one 
son, Gene Fanguy; one brother, Louby Fanguy; and one great-grandchildren, 
Wallace Fanguy.
