KNOBLOCH, O’NEIL 

O’Neil L. Knobloch, 75, a native of Boutte and a resident of Hahnville, died at 
1:44 a.m. Monday (Jan 1, 1990).

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. today at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in 
Hahnville with interment, following at Holy Rosary Mausoleum in Taft.

He is survived by his wife, Anna Belle Brady Knobloch; two daughters, Elaine K. 
Smith and Anna Marie K. Baudoin; one sister, Rita Bourgeois; and three 
grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Norbert and Cecile Champagne Knobloch; 
four brothers, Roy, Guy, Nolan and Ernest Knobloch; and one sister, Mary 
Zeringue.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that Masses be held in his memory.

Johnny Mitchell Matherne Sr., 50, a native of Theriot and a resident of Houma, 
died at 8 a.m. Monday (Jan 1, 1990).

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. today at 
Falgout Funeral Home of Houma.

A Mass of Christian burial will be said at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Ann 
Catholic Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He is survived by four sons, Johnny Jr., David, Ronnie and Michael Matherne, 
all of hnm; six daughters, Mrs. Tommy (Sheila) Rodrigue of Houma, Mrs. Albert 
(Donna) Daigle of Bayou Blue, Mrs. Danny (Lisa) Luke of Dulac, Mrs. Robert 
(Tammy) Wood of North Carolina and Angela and Charlene Matherne of Houma; two 
brothers, Houston “TV” Matherne Sr. of Bayou Blue and Elson “Nab” Matherne Sr. 
of Bourg; and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Lelia Blanchard Matherne; 
four brothers, Wallace, Gustave, Horace and “BB” Matherne; and two sisters, 
Rita M. Folse and Lydia Matherne.

Houma, died Monday (Jan 1, 1990).

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clairfey and Clothilde Naquin 
LeBoeuf; and five brothers, Luby, Leon, Camile, Calvin and Erald LeBoeuf. 

She and her husband celebrated their 50th anniversary on Dec. 25.

Church in Pointe-aux-Chenes with interment following at the church cemetery.

She is survived by one son, Douglas P. Esteve of Groves, Texas; one brother,

LeBoeuf, Mrs. John (Olla) Hotard and Mrs. David (Clonise) Dupre, all of Pointe-
aux-Chenes.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas P. McMillan; parents, Dema and 
Brigitte Ledet Dupre; four brothers, Filmore, Ernest, Phillip and Peter Dupre;

whose obituary was published Monday, is survived by 44 grandchildren, according

CENAC, PHILIP DR.

Dr. Philip Louis Cenac, a pioneer in the medical community in Houma and 
Terrebonne Parish, died at 8:08 a.m. Wednesday (Jan. 24, 1990) at Terrebonne 
General Medical Center following a brief illness. He was 71.

Visitation will be held from 7 p.m. – 10 p.m. today at St. Gregory Barbarigo 
Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at 
the church followed by private services.

Cenac was one of a group of nine doctors who opened the doors of Terrebonne 
General Medical Center in 1954 when it was known as Terrebonne General 
Hospital.

Among his many credits, Cenac was the first board certified surgeon to actively 
practice in Terrebonne Parish. He is also credited with helping develop the 
medical community in the parish. 

Cenac was an honor graduate of Terrebonne High School, Louisiana State 
University in Baton Rouge and the LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans. During 
World War II, he was a first lieutenant in the U.S. Navy, serving on the USS 
Caney. 

During 38 years of practicing medicine in Terrebonne Parish, Cenac’s list of 
accomplishments includes chief of staff at Terrebonne General Hospital, past 
president of the Terrebonne Parish Medical Society, the Louisiana Chapter of 
the American college of Surgeoins and the Rivers Surgical Society of the LSU 
Medical Center. 

The doctor is survived by his wife, Dorothy Stodghill Cenac; four sons, Drs. 
Chris Cenac of Houma, Louis Cenac of Baton Rouge, Paul Cenac and Andre’ Cenac, 
both of New Orleans; two daughters, Madeleine Cenac Kopfler of Houma, and Nancy 
Cenac Robichaux of Baton Rouge; a brother, Donald J. Cenac of Houma; three 
sisters, Ione Rucker, Rita May Hoffman and Olga Engeron of Houma, and 16 
grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Jean Pierre and Marie 
Bourgeois Cenac and a brother, William J. Cenac Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy Vieth Cox; three sons, Conde Thompson Cox of 
Austin, Texas, Prentiss E. Cox Jr. of Minneapolis, Minn.; and Gregory Vieth Cox 
of Houma; a sister, Virginia C. Guinn of Lafayette, LA; and a grandchild. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Delma Cox and Luna Virginia 
Milner Shannon.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, a U.S. Navy veteran and a 
graduate of Northeast University, LSU and the Iliff School of Theology.

FORSHAG, ELMER Jr.

Elmer William Forshag Jr., a native of Natalbany, LA and a resident of Houma, 
died at 3:35 p.m. Monday (Jan. 29, 1990). 

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until funeral time Wednesday at Chauvin Funeral 
Home of Houma.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home 
chapel. Burial will be St. Anthony Cemetery. 

He is survived by his wife, June Caserta Forshag; two sons, E.W. “Billy” 
Forshag III and Kevin Jude Forshag of Houma; two daughters, Judy Keller of 
Lafayette, LA and Duane “Tuppy” Duncan of Houma; a brother, Wayne Forshag of 
Amite, LA; two sisters, Dottie Shilling and Barbara Carpenter of Amite, LA; six 
grandchildren and two great grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Olive Peavey Forshag Sr.

He was a parishioner of St. Anthony Catholic Church and a veteran of the U.S. 
Marines.

a.m. Tuesday. (Jan. 30, 1990)

Isle Catholic Church in Grand Isle. 

Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be in 
Grand Isle Cemetery. 

He is survived by three nieces and a nephew.

Shawn Michael DeHart, 13, a native of Houma and a resident of Theriot, died at 
7:39 p.m. Tuesday (Jan. 30, 1990).

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. today until funeral time Friday at Chauvin 
Funeral Home in Houma.

Religious services will be Friday at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Theriot. 
Burial will be in St. Eloi Cemetery. 

He is survived by his parents, Morris “Dukey” and Kattie Duthu DeHart of 
Theriot; grandparents, Morris J. DeHart Sr. of Theriot, Joseph and Josephine 
“Une” Foret Duthu of Grand Caillou; a brother, Mitchell Leigh DeHart of 
Theriot; and a sister, Kayla Lynn DeHart of Theriot. 

He was an eighth grade student at Houma Junior High School and a member of St. 
Andrew’s Episcopal Church.

Nettie Bergeron LeCompte, 86, a native of Bayou Dularge and a resident of 
Houma, died at 5:55 p.m. Tuesday (Jan. 30, 1990). 

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday and from 8 a.m. to funeral 
time Thursday at Chauvin Funeral Home of Houma. 

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Francis de 
Sales Cathedral in Houma. Burial will be in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 
2.

She is survived by four sons, J.P., Philip, Bennie and Robert “Bobby” LeCompte, 
all of Houma; three daughters, Norma Robichaux of Bourg, Jeanette Domangue and 
Kate Graham of Houma; 22 grandchildren, 79 great grandchildren and 12 great 
great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. LeCompte; parents, Henry and 
Marie Toups Bergeron; a son, Roy CeCompte; a daughter, Alice Sonnier; two 
brothers, Albert and Tete Bergeron; two half brothers, Jules and Henry 
Boudreaux; three sisters, Aline Dupre, Marie Darsey and Adele Leonard; seven 
grandchildren and two great grandchildren. 

She was a parishioner of of St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church.

Dismissal services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with interment 
following in Blue Lilly Cemetery in Johnson Ridge.

He is survived by four sons, James C. Hill, Dwayne Dixon, Brandon Dock and 
Joseph Dock Jr.; and four daughters, JoAnn Boudreaux, Cantrelle Fletcher, 
Melissa Dock and Deborah Dock.
