died at 4:05 p.m. Thursday.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until funeral 
time Saturday at Chauvin Funeral Home of Houma.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Holy Family 
Catholic Church. 

Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Gertrude Authement Fonseca; three sons, John Paul 
Fonseca, James Randolph Fonseca of Perris, Ga., and Allen Joseph Fonseca of 
Houma; a step son, Roy Luke Sr. of Golden Meadow, La; three daughters, Mrs. 
Connor (Lovedee) Laiche of Hazelhurst, 
Miss., Mrs. Floyd (Betty) Guillory of Houma and Mrs. Dwayne (Alice) Leleux of 
New Iberia, La.; four brothers, Alton “Mack”, Claude, Paul and Ellis Fonseca Jr. 
of Houma; three sisters, Mrs. Elmore (Rose) Songe, Mrs. O’Neil (Nora) Bonvillain 
of Houma and Edith Fonseca of Schriever; 23 grandchildren and 23 great 
grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ellis and Eve Thibodeaux Fonseca; three 
brothers, Sergen, Wilton and Nolan Fonseca; and two sisters, Lucille Curole and 
Viola Bourgeois.

Newton Irving Foote, 66, a native of Louisa, La., a former resident of Morgan 
City, La., and a resident of Thibodaux, died Thursday (Feb. 1, 1990).

Visitation will be from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until 
funeral time Saturday at Landry Funeral Home of Thibodaux.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Co-
Cathedral in Thibodaux. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Verlie Toups Foote; three sons, Edward, John and 
David Foote of Thibodaux; a daughter, Mrs. Louis (Mary) Alcazar of Marrero, La.; 
two brothers, Ralph and Kenneth Foote of Port Arthur, Texas; three sisters, 
Loretta Cross, Delores Montondon of Port Arthur, Texas, and Charlotte Holstead 
of Dallas; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hazel Leonard Foote and Newton Irving 
Foote Sr.

He was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in his name to the 
Nicholls College Foundation.

Robert C. Power, 87, a native of Nacogdoches, Texas and a resident of Baton 
Rouge, La., died Thursday (Feb. 1, 1990)

Baton Rouge. Masonic services will be at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Holly Grove Cemetery in Wisner, 
La.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth K. Power of Baton Rouge; two daughters, Martha 
“Candy” Sarpy of Charlotte, N.C., and Mary “Coollie” Quinn of Slidell, La.; a 
sister, Lois Cross of Brownwood, Texas; 11 grandchildren and 21 great 
grandchildren.

He was a member of First Baptist Church and FA&M Mason Capitol Lodge 399.

Milton J. Rhodes, 69, a native of Houma and a resident of Watson, La., died at 
12:05 a.m. Thursday (Feb. 1, 1990)

Denham Springs, La., and from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. today at Live Oak United 
Methodist Church.
Religious services will be at 3 p.m. today at the church.

He is survived by his wife, Vivian Rhodes of Watson, La.; a son, John Rhodes of 
Denham Springs; two daughters, Brenda Cowart and Janice Sandefer of Watson; 
seven grandchildren and a step granddaughter. 

He was preceded in death by a grandchild, Jacady Rhodes. 

He was a parishioner of Live Oak United Methodist Church and assistant scout

Ellis R. Schouest Sr., 87, a resident of Cypremort Point, La., died at 4:30 a.m. 
Thursday (Feb. 1, 1990).

Funeral services were held Friday at Ibert’s Chapel in Franklin, La., 

with interment following at St. Helen Mausoleum.

He is survived by his wife, Leona Engeron Schouest of Cypremort Point; four 
sons, Joseph Schouest and Eugene Schouest Jr. of Cypremort Point, and Timothy 
Schouest of New Iberia; two daughters, Leona S. Rebert of Coteau Holmes, La, and 
Theresa S. Trosclair of Cypremort point; 25 grandchildren and 52 great 
grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Augustine and Azelina Danos Schouest, 
one son, Michael Schouest; five brothers, six sisters and two great 
grandchildren.

Irving Joseph Aucoin, 85, a native of Terrebonne Parish and a resident of Bourg, 
died at 2:15 Friday.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until funeral 
time Monday at St. Ann Community Center in Bourg. A Mass of Christian burial 
will be said at 10 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church in Bourg 

with interment following at the church cemetery.

He is survived by four sons, Richard C. Aucoin, Donald David Aucoin of Bourg, 
Rudy R. Aucoin of Houma and Robert T. Aucoin of Folsum, La.; three brothers, 
Albon, Lloyd and Jasper Aucoin of Bourg; two sisters, Mrs. Ray (Thelma) 
Boudreaux and Mrs. Percy (Kay) LeBlanc of Donaldsonville; 10 grandchildren and 
six great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Rogers Aucoin; parents, Octave and 
Lorina Guidry Aucoin; and one brother, Roy Aucoin.

He was a parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, the family

Brunet; and three grandsons.

Saturday. 

He is survived by one son, George Picone of Houma; one brother, Wilbert Picone

two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Annie Hebert Picone.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Felicien Paul Domangue and Elvire 
Fanguy Domangue; two sons, Manuel and Eric Domangue; and two daughters, Janice 
and Millie Domangue. 

He was a retired identification officer of the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s 
Office and a parishioner of Annunziata Catholic Church. The family requests at

RICHARD, EVERETT

Everett James Richaud, a long time resident of Houma who was active in civic and 
social organizations, died at 12:55 a.m. Tuesday (Feb. 20, 1990). Funeral 
services will be Thursday.

Richaud, 85 years old, was a native of Morgan City.

He served as president of the Houma-Terrebonne Chamber of Commerce from 1953 to 
1954, was a member of the chamber's board of directors and was named this year 
as an honorary chamber board member.

At the time of his death, Richaud was serving as chairman of the state Finance 
Committee for the American Legion, a position he held for the past 37 years.

Richaud was a member of American Legion Lenox Hotard Post No. 31, was active in 
Elks Lodge No. 1193 and was a member of the Terrebonne Association for Retarded 
Citizens. 

He was active in the Krewe of Houmas Carnival Club, having served as captain for 
several years and king one year.

For many years he was a director of Terrebonne Bank and Trust and at one time 
served as chairman of the bank's board of directors.

Richaud was honored for his untiring contributions to the Terrebonne Parish 
community by being named the Houma Daily Courier's Most Useful Citizen in 1947. 
He was the second person to receive the honor, which is still being awarded 
today. 

Richaud was a graduate of Jefferson College in Convent and earned a bachelor's 
degree from Loyola University in New Orleans.

Owner and president of Richaud Motors from 1950 to 1976, Richaud was a long time 
member of the Louisiana Automobile Dealers' Association and served in various 
elected offices within that organization, including president, vict president 
and secretary/treasurer. He also was active in the National Chrysler-Plymouth 
Dealers Council.

During the early months of World War II, Richaud served in the Civil Air Patrol, 
flying over the Gulf of Mexico, and served in the Army Air Corps from 1942 to 
1946. He achieved the rank of Major and received the World War II Victory Medal 
and the American Theater Service medal. 

He is survived by a sister, Eugene Anna Richaud of Houma. 

He was preceded in death by by his parents, Eugene and Anna Grevembert Richaud; 
and brother, George Jennings Richaud.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until funeral time  Thursday at Chauvin Funeral 
Home of Houma. 

A Mass of Christian burial will be said at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Francis de

grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Onazip Sevin;  parents Wallace and Emma 
Sevin Hebert; brothers Ferninand, Henry, William and John Hebert;  sisters Emme 
Lee Hebert, Alaia Hebert and Vivian Pellegrin; and one granddaughter.

Myrtle Knight Arabie, 64, a native of Raceland and a resident of Gretna, La., 
for 35 years, died at 7:45 p.m. wendesday (Feb. 28, 1990)

Funeral services are tentatively scheduled for Friday at St. Mary Catholic 
Church in Raceland. 

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

She is survived by three sons, Ronald, Alton Jr. and Nolan Arabie; two brothers, 
Phillip and Norris Knight; two sisters, Estma Babin and Velma Fricks; seven 
grandchildren and a great grandchild. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Arabie Sr.; and her parents, 
Albert and Lelia Knight.

Evelina Guy Authement, 62, native of Terrebonne Parish and a resident of 
Montegut, died 7:15 p.m. Wednesday (Feb 28, 1990).

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. today until funeral time  Friday at the Montegut 
Fire Station.

A Mass of Christian burial will be said at 3 p.m. Friday at Sacred Heart 
Catholic Church. 

Burial will follow in St. Elie Cemetery. 

She is survived by two daughters, Mary Pellegrin of Montegut and Alice Breaux of 
Bourg;  three brothers, Sidney, Whitney and Gilbert Guy, all of Chauvin; sisters 
Louise Blanchard, Mary LeBouef,  Hazel Scott and Mabel Benoit, all of Chauvin,  
and Vivian Eschete of Houma; and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Arthur Pellegrin; her second 
husband, Anthony Authement; her parents Desire and Julia Trahan Guy; four 
brothers Lawerence, Willey, Adison and Henry Guy; and a sister Fabiola Lirette.

She was a parishioner of  Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Jesse Biglane Sr., 69, a native of Covington County, Miss. And a resident of Des 
Allemands for six years, died at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until funeral 
time  Saturday at Falgout Funeral Home in Raceland.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary Catholic Church in 
Raceland. 

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Annabel Smith Biglane; three sons, Jesse Jr., John 
and Paul Biglane; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Maybelle Clark Biglane.

Rodney Lynn Hudson, 48, a native and resident of Houma, died at 12:15 p.m. 
Wednesday. 

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. toay and from 8 a.m. until funeral

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. 

Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Jackie Vordick Hudson; his parents, Robert and Mae 
Campell Hudson of Houma; a son, Brent Matthew Hudson of Houma; a daughter, Robin 
Lynn Hudson of Houma; and a brother, Wayne Hudson of Slidell, La.

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Houma and a Texaco employee.

Josephine Fesi, a native and resident of Houma, died at 8:55 a.m. Wednesday 
(Feb. 28, 1990).

She is survived by a brother, Salvador Fesi of Houma; and seven sisters, Mary, 
Rose, Marie and Rosalie Fesi and Nettie Mullin, all of Houma, Marguerite 
Vicknair and Ellen Johnson of New Orleans.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carmelo and Congetta Scurto Fesi; two 
brothers, Dr. Frank Fesi and Joseph Fesi; and two sisters, Jennie Fesi and Ann 
Robertson.
