He was a second class seaman and she was stationed in Corpus Christi Texas. They were married on Dec. 31, 1945. They have two daughters, Karena A Dandachli. 37, a resident of the United Arab Emirates, and Holly Knowles, 34, of Austin, Texas. Sandra Chabert of Cut Off, his daughter from a previous marriage, is the mother of four of his grandchildren. Dandachli also has one child. She worked for 18 years as an anesthetist at Ellender Memorial Hospital and 10 years at Terrebonne General Hospital.
