LLOYD MELVIN BRADLEY, 54, a native of Thibodaux and resident of san 
Francisco, died at 4:30 pm Thursday, July 30, 1997.

Dismissal services were scheduled for 10 am today at St. Mathews 
Missionary Baptist Church in Mathews, with burial in the church 
cemetery.

He is survived by his companion, Premia Jones of San Francisco; two 
children, Nathan and Pernisha Bradley, both of San Francisco; eight 
brothers, Thomas Bradley Jr. of Thibodaux, Earl Bradley of San 
Francisco, the Rev. Roland Bradley of Labadieville and Robert Meade, 
both of New Orleans, Donald Bradley of Lafayette, Gerald Bradley and 
Royal Meade, both of Houma, and Ronald Bradley of Labadieville; 10 
sisters, Leona B. Johnson of Fairfield, Calif., Enell Brown of 
Thibodaux, Veronica Adams of Richmond, Va., Anne Crider of 
Jacksonville, Fla., Louise Bradley of Houma, Elandra, Mirian, Lillie 
and Cheryl Bradley, all of Raceland, and Gloria Bradley of Algiers; and 
his stepmother, Majorie M. Bradley of Raceland.

He was preceded in death by his father, the Rev. Thomas Bradley Sr.; 
his mother, Emelda J. Bradley Victor; his step father, William Victor; 
and his grandparents, the Rev. and Mrs. Anthony Jones sr. and Johnny 
and Priscilla Bradley.

YANCY PAUL GUIDRY, 55, a native of Lafourche Parish and 
resident of Bayou Blue, died at 1:02 pm Thursday, July 31, 
1997. A memorial service was held Thursday.

He is survived by his wife, Gerry B. Guidry; two sons, 
Roland P. and Virgil J. Guidry; five daughters, Nancy, 
Gerrilyn and Quanita Guidry, Leona G. Gagneaux and Angelle 
Matherne; three step children, Jay Polite, Charlene P. 
Authement and Sammy Vassar; three brothers; five sisters; 
and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Yancy and 
Anna Lee Guidry; one sister, Mary Jane Guidry; and one 
granddaughter, Kayla Marie Gagneaux.

CLAIRVILLE "CAL" CLEMENT, 90, a native and resident of 
Thibodaux, died at 7:15 am, Friday, Aug. 1, 1997.

Visitation is scheduled for 5 - 9 pm today and 8 am until 
funeral time Monday at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral.  Mass is 
scheduled for 10 am Monday at the church, with burial in 
the church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Edith Adams Clement; five sons, 
Calford, Lloyd "Red", Robert "Bobby", David "Dave" and Tomy 
Clement; two daughters, Deanna Ordoyne and Judy Callahan; 
21 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lebert and 
Estellina Hebert Clement; four brothers, Lenord, George, 
Etienne and Philip Clement; and three sisters, Helen Roger, 
Julie Richard and Elda Guillot.

Landry's Funeral Home of Thibodaux is in charge of

BYNA PORCHE DAIGLE, 93, a native of Houma and resident of 
Baton Rouge, died at 7:45 pm Friday, Aug. 1, 1997

Visitation will be from noon until funeral time Monday at 
St. Ayoysius Catholic Church in Baton Rouge.  Mass will be 
at 1 pm Monday with graveside services at 4 pm at St. 
Francis de Sales No. 2 cemetery in Houma.

She is survived by one son, David L. Daigle and his wife 
Lelia L. Daigle of New Orleans; one daughter, Susan D. 
Mathews and her husband Robert W. Mathews of Baton Rouge;  
two sisters, Rebecca Porche of Baton Rouge and Ethel 
Eickmeier of Baton Rouge;  nine grandchildren and seven 
great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Drexler J. 
Daigle; one sister and six brothers.

She was a parishioner of St. Aloysius Catholic Church.

resident of Houma, died at 8:15 am Friday, Aug. 1, 1997.

funeral time Monday at Chauvin Funeral Home in Houma.  Mass 
will be at 10 am at the funeral home chapel with burial in 
Gueydan Cemetery in Gueydan.

She is survived by her husband, Eugene "Sonny" J. Navarre 
Jr. of Houma; one son, Stephen s. Navarre of Houma; one 
daughter, Zoe Denise Oswald of Houma;  one brother, Joseph 
Bougard of Gueydan; two sisters, Zoe Spedale of Plaquemine 
and Anita Hungerford of Scott; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Sadonia 
Saltzman Saporito;  one brother, Paul Anthony Saporito; and 
two sisters, Mary Grace Saporito and Anite Mouton.

She was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church in 
Houma and a member of the Catholic Daughters and Houma Oil 
Wives Club.  She was a retired schoolteacher for the 
Terrebonne Parish School Board.

brother, Clifton "Boone" Simoneaux; one sister, Cecile 
"Lullette" Daigle; five grandchildren and six great 
grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harrison 
Theriot; her second husband, Peter Thibodaux; her parents, 
Arthur and Lumina Landry Simoneaux; two brothers, Ronald 
and Arthur Simoneaux Jr.; and one sister, Evelyn S.

He is survived by his wife, Virgus Collins Boudreaux; his

Dovie Naquin, Elizabeth "Libby" Gisclair, Myrna Cheramie,

He was preceded in death by his father, Adam Boudreaux Sr.; 
two brothers, Corbert and Adam Boudreaux Jr.; and one

Charles. The rosary will be recited at 7 pm today at the

with burial in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

She is survived by three sons, Maurice "Buddy" Moreau of 
Lake Charles, David Moreau of Iota and Mike Moreau of New 
Orleans; three daughters, Jean Carol Moreau of Lake 
Charles, Celeste "Peaches" Ryan of Sugar Land, Texas, and 
Marie "Mel" Moreau of Orange, Texas; her caregiver, Vickie 
Holt of Lake Charles; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great 
grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, W. J. Moreau.

She was a retired elementary school teacher, a member of 
the Catholic Daughters of America, a member of Mary's 
Callers, a member of St. Patrick Hospital Ladies Auxiliary 
and a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Cathedral.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. 
Louis High School or to the American Diabetic Association.

Anny Tivet Authement Trahan, 79, a native of Terrebonne Parish
 and a resident of Houma, died at 9:50 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2,
 1997. Her body was donated to science and there will be no 
memorial service at her request. Memorials will be placed in 
St. Eloi Cemetery and Terrebonne Memorial Park Cemetery.

She is survived by two daughters, Elda A. Soulet of Chauvin 
and Linda A. Baber of Houma; one stepson, Roy Trahan of Chauvin; 
one stepdaughter, Edna Marion of Chauvin; two brothers, Jerry 
Tivet of Houma, and Andrew (Do-Do_ Tivet of Chauvin; 15 
grandchildren; and 28 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Wiltz Authement 
Jr.; her second husband, Alvin F. Trahan; her parents, Honora 
and Clarys Martin Tivet; one son, Elden Authement Sr.; and one 
sister, Lillian T. Cavanilla. She was a retired mid-wife and a 
parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, 
memorial masses are preferred.

Albert Robert Viguerie, 61, a native and resident of Houma, 
died at 7:24 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 3, 1997. Visitation will be 
from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. 
to funeral time Wednesday at St. Francis de Sales Catholic 
Church. Mass will be at noon Wednesday at the church, with 
burial in Terrebonne Memorial Park Cemetery. 

He is survived by his wife, Mary "Beth" Gianelloni Viguerie; 
and a number of relatives and friends. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Francis Eugene and 
Ella Sellers Viguerie. He was a graduate of Terrebonne High 
School and received a bachelor of science degree in education 
in 1959 from the University of Southwestern Louisiana. He was 
a U.S. Army veteran and was previously employed by the Terrebonne 
Parish School Board as a history, physical education and driver's 
education teacher. He was former vice president in charge of 
computer operations and debit card banking at American Bank and 
Trust Company in Houma. At the time of his death he was employed 
by South Louisiana Bank as senior officer in charge of operations. 
He was a charter member of Ellendale Country Club and a long time 
member of Louisiana Banker's Association Bank Security Committee.

He was a member of World Wide Church of God Spokesman Club 
and a member of Ministry Club.

New Orleans, and Perry Jupiter Jr. of Donaldsonville; five step 
children, Zenna, Curthis Elroy and Artamus Cheatman, all of 
Donaldsonville, and Terry Cheatman of Thibodaux; eight siblings, 
Ulysses, Brenda Lee, Sterling, Mary Ann and Winnie Cooks, Johnnie Mae 
Singleton, Margaret Dorsey and Olivia Washington, all of Napoleonville; 
seven stepsisters, Betty, Hester Mae, Dorothy, Gertrude, Brenda, Dianna 
and Bernice Jupiter, all of Napoleonville; and two stepbrothers, Larry 
and Lionel Jupiter, both of Napoleonville.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elester Jupiter; his father, 
Wallace Jupiter Sr.; his grandparents, August Short, Mary Williams and 
Mandy and Rose Robertson; his step mother Letha Jupiter; two 
stepbrothers, Loris and Wallace Jupiter Jr.; one stepson, Arthur Bush; 
and one grandson, Robin Cooks.

He was a member of St. Phillip Baptist Church.

He was a parishioner of Maria Immacolata Catholic church, a 
U.S. Army Veteran of World War ll, a member of the Knights

a retired drilling superintendent.

Clifford Gordon of Madison, N.J.; two sisters, Mary Haynes and Margaret 
Tumey, both of Baton Rouge; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles T. and Lucille Butler 
Gordon; two brothers, Charles, Joseph and Nell Gordon Head; her first 
husband, Robert S. Smith and her second husband, Eric J. Lobenstein.

She was a retired teacher and member of the American Contract Bridge 
League. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Thibodaux.

and Morris Boquet of Houma; three sisters, Lela Aucoin, Lena Chauvin and 
Jeanette Deroche, all of Bourg; 81 grandchildren; 244 great grandchildren; and

Jules Boquet and Antillia Blanchard; one son, Davis Arceneaux Jr.; one daughter,

She was a member of St. Ann Ladies Altar Society and parishioner of St. Ann

HARRIS, WILLIE, Sr. 

Willie Harris Sr., 97, a native of Bayou Dularge and a resident 
of Houma, died at 4 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 31, 1997. Visitation will 
be from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday at Community Funeral Home and from 
5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at New Mount Zion Baptist Church. Wake 
services will be 8 p.m. Thursday at the church. Dismissal 
services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with burial f
ollowing in St. Francis Cemetery No. 2.

He is survived by four sons, Elvin and Harold Harris, both of 
Houma, Willie Harris Jr. of Metairie, and Albert Harris of St. 
Paul, Minn.; three daughters, Rita Harris Walker of Houma, Elma 
Harris Owens of Gibson, and Vera Harris Lawson of St. Paul; one 
sister, Lillie Harris Campbell of Houma; 25 grandchildren; 50 
great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carrie Taylor Harris; his 
parents, Roden and Sissie Douglas Harris; one son, Lester Harris; 
two daughters, Ophelia and Anita Harris; one brother, Freddie 
(Sam) Harris and one sister, Edna Harris Peters.

MATHERNE, GLYNN, Sr.   

Glynn J. Matherne Sr., 40, a native of Bourg and a resident of Houma, 
died at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 31, 1997. Visitation was scheduled from 
9 a.m. to funeral time today at Samart Funeral Home. Funeral services 
were scheduled for 2 p.m. today at the funeral home, with burial 
following in Bisland Cemetery. 

She is survived by his wife, Linda Lodrigue Matherne; his mother, 
Malvina Trahan; one son, Glynn Matherne Jr.; three daughters, Ida and 
Tina Matherne and Kitty Bergeron; three brothers, Henry, Mark and Lynn 
John Matherne; one sister, Rose Blanchard; his grandmother and 
step-grandfather, Irene and Leonard bourg; and one grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Matherne Sr.; two brothers, 
Gil and Albert Matherne Jr.; his maternal grandfather, Gibson Galliano; 
his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Augustine Matherne.

PITRE, VERNE

Vern Pitre, a native and resident of Lafourche Parish, age 71, 
died Aug. 31, 1997. Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. today 
at Landry Funeral Home in Thibodaux. A graveside service and 
burial will be at Hillcrest cemetery in Goodman, Miss, at 2 p.m. 
Wednesday. A memorial service will be held at a later, 
undetermined date at First United Methodist Church in Thibodaux. 

He is survived by his wife, Ouida Boyette Pitre; one son, 
Dennis Pitre of Houma; two daughters, Jackie Lindsley of Thibodaux 
and Darlene Bergeron of Houma; one brother, Milton (Bob) Pitre; 
and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, I.J. Pitre and Blanche 
Gaspard Pitre. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the 
American Cancer Society. 

Mr. Pitre was author of a weekley Courier article "Coffee Break"; 
he also authored several books; He volunteered at Laurel Valley 
Plantation and Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve 
Wetlands Acadian Cultural Center. He was a member of the Terrebonne 
Parish Genealogy Society; and he was inducted into the American 
Cancer Society Hall of Fame.
