He served as president of the St. Vincent de Paul Society and as president of the Holy Name Society until the closing of St. Lucy's Church and schools. He then joined St. Francis de Sales Cathedral where he was a member of the Usher Society, a member of the St. Joseph Society, a member of the Holy Name Society, sang as a tenor in the church choir, and served as president of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Peter Claver Immaculate Heart of Mary Council No. 119 and a member of the St. Joseph Benevolent Society of Maringouin. He served on the board of directors of the Houma Chapter of Catholic Charities and on the board of Vandebilt Catholic High School. But Hebert was best known, family and friends agreed, for his knowledge of the insurance business. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Minnie "Ruth" Arnold Williamson. He was a retired employee of Pool Offshore Drilling in Houma after 15 years.
