He was also part of the original faculty at Bossier Parish Community College. In 1980 he was Bossier Parish Teacher of the Year and was a member of the Optimist Club of Bossier City. He was coordinator for the 23rd Annual International Science and Engineering Fair in Shreveport in 1980, and he also worked as state science fair coordinator. He was the founder and owner of Transport Ligistics, Inc., in Houma and pioneered and developed a submersible launch system and specialized in international barge load-outs. Along with his secretary of 13 years, Donnalyn "Rocky" Holder, he built the company into one that is recognized world wide for its marine transportation consulting skills. He worked on the original Downtown on the Bayou Committee, was a member of the Downtown Business Association, was a member of the Krewe of Terreanians and was actively involved in the revitalization of downtown Houma. Gaudet; one brother, Frank J. Bourgeois; two sisters, Alice B. Griffin and Dot B. Ledet; three grandchildren and one great- grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman J. Gaudet Sr.; her parents, Claude E. Bourgeois and Bridget Barrilleaux Bourgeois; and one brother, Claude J. Bourgeois. Punch and Stephen James Punch; one daughter-in-law, Lynette P. Punch; one daughter, Rhonda Zarzycki; one son-in-law, James Zarzycki; two brothers, Louis Punch and Lawrence Punch; two sisters, Alice Allemand and Evelyn LeBlanc; and three grandchild, Angelle Punch, Heather Punch and Aaron Pfeiffer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roman Charles Punch and Alice Plaisance Punch; and one grandchild, Eli Punch. He was a War World II veteran and a member of American Legion Post No. 83 and Raceland V.F.W. Post No. 3665.
