She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Sal (Connie) Casente of New Orleans, Ms. Elizabeth Lirette of Bay St. Louis, Miss., Mrs. Stephen (Alexis) Hellman of Houma, and Mrs. Baird (Hazel) McElroy of Houma; 19 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin S. Baldwin; one son, Jean Mey Lirette; her parents, Ada Duthu Mey and Harry A. Mey Sr.; one brother, Harry A. Mey Jr., and two grandchildren. She was a graduate of the Lawton School (1931) and a local florist for 30 years before opening a gift and framing shop called The Carriageway in 1969. She was a member of numerous civic organizations such as Le Petit Theatre, Houma Woman's Club, Terrebonne Garden Club, Houma Golf Club, and Business and Professional Women's Club. Two of her favorite organizations were Terrebonne Fine Arts Guild and Hycinthians Carnival Club, of which she was a charter member.
