Calvin Joseph Picou Sr., 73, a native of Houma and resident of Bourg, died at 8:10 a.m. Friday, June 27, 2003. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at St. Ann Catholic Church. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Dolores Marie Savoie Picou of Bourg; two sons, Calvin J. Picou Jr. and wife, Rachel Holbrook Picou, of Schriever, and Gary M. Picou and wife, Roxanne Grow Picou, of Montegut; one brother, John Picou of Montegut; three sisters, Maggie P. Ogell, Winnie P. Thibodaux of Houma and Hazel P. Picou of Houston; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Picou and Viola Chiasson Picou; one brother, Justin Picou; and two sisters, Thelma P. Acosta and Shirley P. Crothers. He was a retired shrimper and a member of the VFW. He was a disabled U.S. Army veteran in the Korean War. Toups, 88, a native and resident of Cut Off, died at 5:45 p.m. Saturday, June 28, 2003. Funeral services were scheduled for 11 a.m. today at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off, with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Nola Punch Toups; two sons, Robert and Jackie Toups; one brother, Leonise Toups; three sisters, Earline Pitre, Rose Pierce and Willaria Chiasson; seven grandchildren; 15 great- grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Remie Toups Sr. and Angelina Gisclair Toups; one son, James "Tips" Toups; four brothers, Remie Jr., Loris, David and Noles Toups; three sisters, Leona Anselmi, Noiscia Duet and Elechia Bouffanie; and two grandchildren, Jennifer Toups and Dean Toups.
