Betty Trahan Lirette, 64, a native and resident of Chauvin, died at 7:35 a.m. 
Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Samart Funeral Home in Houma. A 
memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

She is survived by three sons, Elgin Lirette Jr. and wife, Josephine, Richard 
Lirette and Michael Lirette and wife, Marlene; three daughters, Sharon Cheramie 
and husband, Wilson, Elizabeth "Liz" Jordon and husband, Vernon, and Norma 
Lirette and fiance, Daniel Daigle; one sister, Brunella Hutchinson; 20 
grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elgin "Bu-Bute" Lirette Sr.; her 
parents, Avison and Delta Thibodeaux Trahan; one daughter, Melissa Lirette; and 
one sister, Thelma Trahan.

She was a homemaker.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the family to help with medical expenses are 
preferred.
