Claude Bergeron Jr.


Claude Ernest Bergeron Jr., 63, a native of New Orleans and resident of Houma, 
died at 6:29 p.m. Monday, Aug. 2, 2004.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 9 
a.m. to funeral time Thursday at St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Mass will be 
at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church, with burial in Ascension Catholic Cemetery 
in Donaldsonville.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon R. Bergeron of Houma; one son, Michael 
Bergeron and wife, Tamara, of Houma; three daughters, Kristen Shaffer and 
husband, Mark, of Sacramento, Calif., Gracie Bergeron of Thibodaux and Allison 
Phalen and husband, Robert, of Atlanta; three stepdaughters; three 
grandchildren, Hunter Bergeron, Hayden Bergeron and Sofia Shaffer; and three 
step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Kathleen Noel Bergeron; his 
parents, Claude E. Bergeron and Mary Lee "Buddy" Richard Bergeron; and one 
brother, Richard Bergeron.

He was founder of Bergeron and Lanaux CPA's, past president of the Chamber of 
Commerce and past president and member of the Rotary Club of Houma.

He was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. Francis de Sales School or 
Nicholls State University College of Business are preferred.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
