Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until service time Monday at Chauvin Funeral Home. A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Monday at the funeral home chapel. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Mills Ellis of Houma; his mother, Estelle Kaufman Ellis of Las Vegas; his grandmother, Alice Eva Ollestad of Las Vegas; two sons, David Ray Ellis of Metairie and Daniel Ryan Ellis of Houma; one brother, Paul Ray Ellis of Dallas; and one sister, Suzanne Marie Ellis of Manassas, Va. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Edward Ellis. He was a helicopter pilot with Air Logistics and a former member of the Texas Army National Guard. He graduated from the U.S. Army Rotary Wing Aviator Course in 1987 and became a Warrant Officer that year. He was a pilot since 1982. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the American Red Cross or the charity of your choice are preferred. Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
