Jano, 67, a native of Barnsdale, Okla., and resident of Warren, Texas, died Monday, Aug. 23, 2004. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Henneke Funeral Home in Columbus, Texas, with burial in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Mary Janow of Warren; three daughters and sons-in- law, Jamie and Mike Elfert of Houma, Phyllis and John Guidry of Houma and Rayna and Norman Ward of Lumberton, Texas; one step-daughter, Joette Fountain and husband, Kelly, of Fred, Texas; one son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Christine Janow of Kountze, Texas; two stepsons, John Collins and wife, Anitra of Humble, and Michael Spurlock and wife, Angela, of Warren; one brother, Ronald Janow and wife, Betty, of San Antonio; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Adley Houston Janow and Irene Bibles Janow; and his first wife, Joyce Williams Janow. He was a boat captain in the oil industry. He was Baptist.
