The date preceding the obituary is the date of posting on the WWW, not the date of death. ============================= August 12. 2004 12:00AM James Williams [Photo] James "Cheakie" "Whitey" Williams, 63, a native of Montegut and resident of Houma, died at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, 2004. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Community Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at St. Peter Baptist Church in Montegut. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in Bisland Cemetery. He is survived by two daughters, Elesha Nacole and Latia Sierra Williams, both of Houma; his devoted friend, Bobby Jean Shephard; four brothers, Haywood Williams Sr. of Dallas, Donald Williams and wife, Mary, and Ronny Williams, both of New Orleans and Alton Williams Jr. and wife, Nicole, of Lockport; three sisters, Vergie Stimley, Daisy Wallace and husband, Charles, all of Larose and Alta Mae Steward and husband, Raymond, of Montegut; and two grandchildren, Kayla Williams and James Small. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alton Sr. and Ollie Jones Williams; one daughter, Jamie Williams; three brothers, Alvin Sr., Nathan and Hayes Williams; and one grandson, Devonte' Williams. He was a member of Blaine C. Clay Lodge No. 14 and fabulous 12 social club and was a member of St. Peter Baptist Church. Community Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
