Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Samart Funeral Home in Houma. Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Eloi Catholic Church, with interment in the church mausoleum. He is survived by his fiancee', Brenda Lovell of Smyrna; his best friend, Bud James Chauvin; one daughter and son-in-law, Heather Lee and John Bascle of Theriot; two sisters, Joyce Champagne of Theriot and Ann Chauvin of Raceland; four brothers, Dean Paul Chauvin Sr. of Houma, Gene Joseph Chauvin Sr. of Houma, Tommy Christopher Chauvin Sr. of Houma and Glenn Anthony Chauvin of Pineville; five grandchildren, Carson, Carter, Brennan, Caroline and Sumner Bascle, all of Theriot; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Goode John Chauvin and Betty Marie Leonard Chauvin; and one brother, Kenneth John Chauvin. He was an insurance adjuster for Dempsey Insurance and was a body technician for Kennesaw Paint and Body. Castellaw Funeral Home in Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
