The date preceding the obituary is the date of posting on the WWW, not the date of death. ============================= August 13. 2004 12:00AM Meryl Milliman [Photo] Meryl Margaret Billiu Milliman, 78, a native and resident of Houma, died at 2:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, 2004. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at St. Louis Catholic Church in Bayou Blue. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Donna Jean (Jeanie) Milliman Richard; and one granddaughter, Emily Richard Rooney and husband, Carl, of Gretna. She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald Stewart and Rita Margaret Chauvin Billiu; and two brothers, Donald Jude and Dooley Stewart Billiu. She was a retired executive secretary for the U.S. Government Draft Board. She graduated from Terrebonne High School and was a member of the honor court. After high school she worked part-time for her father, keeping books for Billiu's Meat Market. She then worked as a typist at the U.S. Naval Air Station for four years becoming a fiscal accounting clerk when the base shut down. She also worked at Houma Insurance and Real Estate Agency and Kelly Drilling Co. until she obtained a position with the local Selective Service. Later she worked for National Supply Company then returned to the Selective Service unit until her retirement. Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
