The date preceding the obituary is the date of posting on the WWW, not the date of death. ============================= August 10. 2004 12:00AM Pearl Soignet [Photo] Pearl Leonard Soignet, 83, a native of Houma Southdown Plantation and resident of Thibodaux, died Monday, Aug. 9, 2004. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in St. John Community. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery. She is survived by three sons, Bernard Soignet Sr. and friend, Syble Adair, of Houma, Clarence Soignet Jr. and wife, Jenny, of San Antonio, and Robert Soignet of Thibodaux; one sister, Eunice Hebert of Houma; five grandchildren, Bernard Soignet Jr., Jason Soignet, Chris Soignet, Kim Hughey and Melissa Bartley; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Soignet Sr.; her parents, Marie and Amade Leonard; one daughter-in-law, Barbara P. Soignet; and three brothers, Wilbert, Emile and Jessie Leonard. She was a long-time residence of Audubon Guest House and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign War. Landry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
