The date preceding the obituary is the date of posting on the WWW, not the date of death. ============================= August 27. 2004 12:00AM Stella Belanger [Photo] Stella Rhodes Belanger, 84, a native of New Orleans and resident of Houma, died at 7:50 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2004. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2. She is survived by four daughters, Kay Bunn, Ellen Belanger of Houma, Sue B. Canalizo of New Orleans and Mary B. Anderson and husband, Raymond, of Metairie; one sister, Madeline Callahan of Houma; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Julius Paul Belanger; her parents, Ellis Rhodes and Mary Walker Rhodes; one great-grandson, Joshua Paul Bunn; two brothers, Irvin and Ellis Rhodes; and two sisters, Gertrude Palmeri and Mary Perkins. She was a retired bookkeeper with Lincoln Big Three, a Girls Scout Troop Leader, Brownie Troop Leader, 4-H Instructor and taught Catechism. She was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church.
