The date preceding the obituary is the date of posting on the WWW, not the date of death. ============================= August 06. 2004 12:00AM Thomas Nash Sr. Thomas "Toolum" Nash Sr., 81, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of Gibson, died at 9:25 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at Beulah Baptist Church in Gibson. Religious services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in Beulah Cemetery. He is survived by one son, Thomas Lee Nash Jr. of Gibson; one daughter, Linda Nash Knight of Gibson; two brothers, James Johnson of Gibson and Ivory Nash of Marrero; two sisters, Ella J. Etheridge and husband, Eddie, and Dolly J. Short and husband, Norris, all of Gibson; four grandchildren; and 11 great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lubertha R. Nash; his parents, Thomas Nash and Agnes Sims Nash Johnson; three brothers, Henry Nash Sr., and Shelby and Robert Johnson; and three sisters, Margie N. Givens, Elnora N. Diggs Cambor and Yvette N. Patrick. He was a self-employed painter and was a U.S. Army World War II veteran. He served on the usher board and was a member of Beulah Baptist Church.
