Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. today at Falgout Funeral Home in Raceland and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Monday at St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church in Mathews. Mass will be at 11 a.m. at the church, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery in Raceland. She is survived by her husband, Percy Lee Matherne, one son, Dean Matherne and wife, Roxanne; three daughters, Paula and husband, Milton Schouest Jr., Penny and husband, Brian Savoie, and April and husband, Edward Detiveaux Jr.; six brothers, Spergin, Levy Jr., Michael, David, Chris and Tommy Plaisance; three sisters, Leanne Dufrene, Genelle Cheramie and Judy Lapeyrousse; and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; Levy and Pauline Matherne Plaisance and her step-mother Adelia Plaisance. She was a parishioner of St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church, a member of the Ladies Altar Society, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Knights of Columbus. She volunteered at the Veterans Affairs Hospital of New Orleans and Raceland Manor. She was an Avon representative.
