The date preceding the obituary is the date of posting on the WWW, not the date of death. ============================= September 08. 2004 12:00AM Carl Freeman Sr. [Photo] Carl Edward "Eddie" Freeman Sr., 81, a native of Vivian and resident of Lockport, died at 2:35 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2004. Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at Holy Savior Catholic Church in Lockport. Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ola Brunet Freeman of Lockport; two sons, Carl Freeman Jr. of Lockport and Jody and wife, Monique Breaux Freeman, of Lockport; two daughters, Sharon and husband, Ken Saucier, of Houma and Holly and husband, Wayne Bourgeois, of Mississippi; three sisters, Paula Guidry of Galliano, Betty Smith of Lockport and Bonnie Miller of Georgia; seven grandchildren, Will and Ben Freeman, Jennifer Matherne, John and Jesse Freeman, Ashley Beth and David Bourgeois; and three great-grandchildren, Anna Catherine and Abigail Matherne and Andrew Freeman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Basil and Edith Freeman. He was a World War II veteran where he received the Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon Award to the Patrol Bombing Squadron No. 18 for outstanding heroism. He was a member of Lockport American Legion and was Lockport Alderman from 1972- 76. He was a Texaco gauger for 24 years and was owner of Eddie's Men and Boys Clothing and Ola's Fabric Shop. He was a Lafourche Parish All-Star fast-pitch second baseman in the late 1950s. He was a parishioner of Holy Savior Catholic Church. Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
