The date preceding the obituary is the date of posting on the WWW, not the date of death. ============================= September 13. 2004 12:00AM Henry Amacker [Photo] Henry "Skip" Amacker, 77, a native of Amite and resident of Houma, died at 7:45 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2004. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at Beautiful Zion Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the church, with burial in Southdown Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Rose Lee Amacker; one son, Ray Charles Amacker; five daughters, Shirley, Henrietta, Thelma, Debra and Wanda Amacker; two brothers, Matthew Amacker of Beaumont, Texas, and Levi Amacker of Houston; three sisters, Betty Lee Carter of Magnolia, Miss., Mary L. Connerly and Louella Roddock of Detroit; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Rose Lee Amacker; one son, Ellis Ray Amacker; five brothers, Sam, Woodrow, George, Willie Jr. and Silas Amacker; and one sister, Cloteal Johnson. He was a retired laborer for Mackerbar Oil Company and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of Beautiful Zion Baptist Church.
