Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 8:30 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Velina Josephine Dupre Scott of Houma; one son, Daniel P. Scott and wife, Merrill, of Bayou Blue; three daughters, Suzanne S. Herman of Houma, Patty J. Dupre and husband, Rodney, of Bourg, and Pam S. Rollans and husband, Daniel, of Houma; three brothers, Alvin A. Sr., Essie P. and Floyd J. Scott of Houma; one sister, Norma Kaye Bourgeois of Houma; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Angelique A. Darcey; his father and step-mother, Paul Johnnie "Kye" Scott and Emelina A. Scott; two brothers, Harry J. Sr. and Carrol J. Scott; and one sister, Pearl M. Stoufflet. He was a retired carpenter and fisherman and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the American Legion and a parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
